try poking one in your eye and see

>LED screens
those dont exist

what do you mean? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED-backlit_LCD

delet this

if LED backlights do this then all these fucking LED street lights and car lights are making us blind for sure.

woked.co/study-led-light-bulbs-blindness/

the most important part of that display is an LCD screen, it could also work just fine if you replaced the LEDs with an alternative light source type

i was talking more about this and less about sudo science
utnews.utoledo.edu/index.php/08_08_2018/ut-chemists-discover-how-blue-light-speeds-blindness

How does a natural sun/fire light exactly differ from an artifical lamp/LED light?

Attached: 42f.png (381x373, 13K)

but according to this, looking at your screen most of the day will cause you to go blind later in life.

yes

Fuck. Are Plasma / OLED screens healthier?

>sudo science

I'm also wondering.

>alternatives?
CRTs with >100Hz refresh rates

Light can have different ratios of different frequency ranges, they are arguing that LEDs generally have more of the harmful ranges (UV?).

Isn't the color pretty much defined by the frequency

Some frequencies are invisible (UV, IR). Not saying what they claimed is true btw, never read any real papers on the subject.

>haha! Wowzers, I recognize this. Only GNU/Linux bros will get it xD
Fuck off cunt.

LED's have too much blue light

Sorry, try again: _

You silly goose.

User is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

>shine laser at petri dish
>retinel cells don't work so good
>AHA THIS PROVES BLUE LIGHT MAKES YOU BLIND
>Please buy our blue light blocking glasses. They are scientifically confirmed to protect your eyesight from macular degeneration!

Take your shitty product shilling and fuck off.

>You want a 2,700 K incandescent, thermal analog light source.

>Actually, fragrance-free candles would be even better.
kek

Even worst than that:

>“blue light” emitted by the LEDs may be disrupting the body’s circadian rhythm, which in turn affects hormone levels.

>muh bleu light is bad

It's as bullshit as calling fast food bad. Stop being brainlets.

>Blue light from digital devices and the sun
>the SUN
the sun, even indirectly, is ludicrously brighter than any screen you'll ever see.

Just get a pair of blue light filtering glasses.

>inb4 just use Flux brah
It's not the same thing at all, retard.

Do you stare into street lamps and car headlights hours at a time?

They're basically organic light cells with an electrical current flowing through it. Id say so unless they released a toxic odorless gass that we dont know about when current is applied.

>being concerned about harmful blue light from LEDs
>forgetting that the sky is blue

Not at night,

and if your concern is the circadian rhythm then you should do away with almost all artificial lighting and also things like daylight savings

I don't disagree

So you could say it's LED LCD?

>if your concern is the circadian rhythm
But it isn't

It does exist

It's not the same thing but the effect is similar: less blue light enters your eye. Glasses block it just like the display blocks it when it's displaying non-blue colours.

LED NO I don't think so but you need blue light filter
Take an example normal mobile led screen
It can exhaust your eyes if sitting for long hours but with blue light filter
You can reduce this exhaustion
But LCD 100% sure

They're bad for you, but at least they're not as bad as CRTs.

then your concern is irrelevant and by virtue of being a shut in nerd you're already shielding yourself from the biggest source of blue light that most people face

Where does the incident actually get reported to?

historically the mail spool for root but on current distros it'll depend on how the maintainers choose to configure your logging daemon
usually in something like /var/log/auth.log or /var/log/secure though

not really until microled becomes a thing, which probably wont be until at least 15 years from now. which it will probably just be like a CRT for most things except with higher resolutions and less depth on the monitor, but also more input lag.
