You see, during the last 200.000 years or so, we as humans lived in small groups that had to co-exist and have coordination and rules to make the stuff work, and during this period we evolved what you can describe as a "sense of divine", a purposeful bug that allowed the smartest of the tribe to invent a story about a god and keep the village working.

And we still have this sense, this bug, but people such as Steve Jobs learned how to hijack it for their own purposes.
