Deadbeef is a shitty clone. The media keys integration is a joke and the sound output just breaks whenever it wants. Clementine is the only Linux music player worth using and vanilla Foobar2000 is still leagues ahead of that.

I'm the kinda guy that definitely prefers guis but the linux music players with guis I've used are all trash
Moc and cmus are wayyy better. The others I've noticed are really fiddly with playlists, syncing music libraries, slow, playback, etc.
If you're a vimfag do cmus. Otherwise do moc. And install beets.io to make your music library super easy to browse in console
Takes a little bit more setup, yes, but after 30 minutes or so of using it, you'll wonder how you ever lived by using gui music players

Why do people use foobar? Who gives a shit about customizing a music player. I'm listening to music, not staring at the album art all day. Didn't even use foobar for that long when I was on windows and don't miss it at all on Linux

Aside from organising the UI elements I don't customise it. The plugins are what makes it so good. It feels like there's a plugin for everything.
