er thank you both, everyone was shitting on this in the last thread. still need to work out a better font and fix my icon issue but i like it

i love using it for light surfing, it's more convenient than firefox in doing simple things like catching up on news or browsing Jow Forums, however HD video streaming and many websites are not supported on luakit. it's also very customizable.

Use Wayland/Sway over Xorg - you're running Gentoo, it's an insult to the distro not to be cutting edge in something as important as a display server.
Also your status bar is shit.

Only thing I would say is don't use Wayland if you use that machine to game with Wine. Wayland and Wine don't play nice yet.

keep in mind wayland has built-in compisiting so compare the footprint of wayland with the footprint of X + xcomp or whatever you use

speak for yourself, i like konsole being piped to root. reminds me of windowmaker, you could set anything including a screensaver to run in root, so you could have an animated background if you wanted

Thanks, the reason the color scheme is boring is because my dotfiles are a frankenstein of different peoples I cobbled together and changed slightly. I'll probably get a bit more creative when I get more comfortable.
