>they remove the ability to set a custom url for "new tab" page
>have to use an extension to do it
>they have disabled access to local files for extensions
>so even with the extension I can't use my own custom start page as my "new tab page"
Mozilla SUCKS
You can set a custom new tab/homepage from a local file without using extensions.
>You can set a custom new tab/homepage from a local file without using extensions.
no you can't, the "newtabpage url" in about:config is disabled and does nothing.
You don't need to touch that, though.
>You can set a custom new tab
then how exactly?
new tab is still a blank page (I edited the url in the userscript). but how is it supposed to know when I open a new tab? do I have to configure firefox in another way? or should I set firefox settings to something else?
It doesn't matter what you set for new tab (blank or firefox home), because the script takes over.
What's the url that you're using for your file? And I'm not calling you retarded, but I'm assuming you have the js on your chrome folder.
fuck off back to your gay chromium, what's your problem silly goy?
You should have bailed when they went all in on WebExtensions. Enjoy your browser DRM
the last updates of mozilla were horrible, I wish I could go back. I'm sure that other browsers are based on the same code, but which ones are good?
I still use firefox exclusively.
This is interesting:
luke-baker.github.io
>sends current page to youtube-dl
but can this be tweaked to seek all youtube-related links on a page and send them to youtube-dl when clicked, instead of having to open the video page before sending it to youtube-dl?
fuck yeah, it was my bad but it works now.
if you use firefox you're supporting sjwism
What else is there?
nothing yet
all current browsers suck ass right now but firefox sucks the least (especially if you know how to configure it)
jokes on you I'm using waterfox
mozilla.org
HOLY FOOK WHY DOES Mozzarella think this '''design''' cancer is good
>press shift-F2
>they literally disabled the console for no fucking reason
waterfox is alright.
it's basically just like funpidgin/carrier was to pidgin though.
It's still Firefox, retard.
>youtube-dl button
i had it bound to a key but that's nice
No it isn't. It's Firefox-based.
Firefox is Firefox.
>hurr durr anything based on gecko is firefox
you could just bind it to a key
bindsym $mod+BackSpace exec mpv/ytdl -- $(sselp/xsel)
Carrier was still Pidgin.
Did you even read my post?
Are they series? That doesn't correctly render in there own browser when you zoom in text only
Fukken embarrassing
It's not really for no reason, but it does mostly boil down to "too lazy to upkeep".
>As of Firefox 60 we intend to pref off the developer toolbar, and then remove the associated code from Firefox in 61.
>The reasons for this are:
>- Both the Developer Toolbar UI and the GCLI upstream library have become unmaintained.
>- Some of its features are broken, some ever since e10s ([3][4]).
>- It is blocking the UnsafeSetInnerHTML work [5].
>- Usage numbers are very low.
>- Alternatives exist for the most used commands.
>- We have other ideas for allowing power users to access common actions via the keyboard which appear more adapted and more DevTools-related (e.g. having special commands in the DevTools console, or having a command palette like Chrome has which originally came from text editors like Sublime Text).
opening the link in clipboard in mpv or youtube-dl is already on my mouse thumb button (autohotkey)
works fine on my firefox..
No, he's right. Just keep zooming and look at the text.
is this zoomed enough for you? it still works fine on my firefox.
Looks fine here on firefox quantum
Both tools.
So how is it any different to using Firefox. Posit an actual alternative or just give up.
>Mozilla UX team are EXCLUDING visually less-abled people
Doesn't this go against their CoC? To have such blatent disregard and hatred for those with bad vision?
>Both tools.
???
what?
Maybe it's some kind of javascript shit or something.
waterfox.
Idk about that but I have a firefox extension that can make external calls. I just right-click the link and hit "Open with MPV" and it just werkz
Waterfox
I'm calling you both tools.
It's just Firefox...
Nope, it still looks fine with js enabled here.
GNU IceCat and Waterfox.
It's okay when they do it.
If you criticise them youre a rapist.
Waterfox is firefox without the mozilla bloat and garbage backed-in/enabled by default.
They're referring to "text only" zoom, not the default one. Which is pretty fucking stupid but still a valid complain, considering it's Mozilla's own page.
If it was just Firefox it would be using Quantum.
But it doesn't. Because it isn't "just Firefox" anymore.
Seamonkey is also acceptable.
Did you read the OP?
firefox has features disabled.
waterfox does not have those features disabled.
>someone is paid to make this
But I'm a Black-Yellow demiqueer trans-arabian jewish woman.
>old Firefox isn't Firefox
It's the same shit, just accept that.
Wow, so that's all it takes to make a new browser?
The consequence of having faggots on the project.
it works fine
or you fucked some shit up on your browser/addons.
how the fuck do you even text only zoom and why the fuck would you? that's fucking retarded.
How do you do "text only"zoom?
the consequences of the west being so pro-gay and pro-feminist
either troll or retarded
mozilla defense force is here.
someone notified the irc lol.
xD Sure showed me
It's not retarded to zoom text in a program whose only purpose is rendering text (HTML) into an image (the rendered page).
It's retarded to not recognize this on your own.
nah mate, but you can't expect to non-uniformly scale something without fucking shit up. if you have ever made a decent website, you'd know.
I expect the makers of the web to be able to handle web technologies in all situations.
t. autistic mongoloid
Internalized misogyny.
>remove features
>autists make an extension to re-add the feature
>suddenly, autists maintain all your features, and you don't have to do anything
>systematically remove features so that others do it for you
>lay off devs

s e e t h i n g
Just hurry up and ram that wheelbarrow full of dicks right up or your arse though.
you don't know how divs work, do you?
you don't know what mongoloid means
how dare you deny my experience.
>not hosting your start page
I'm the OP here you mongoloid. I'm the one shitting on firefox but you can't expect to zoom text only and pretend the layout won't break.
It's built-in with Chrome, the most successful browser on earth.
...
AHEM, can we talk about their cancerous web nu-re-design
>so that's all it takes to make a new browser?
is safari it's own browser?
is brave?
is qupzilla?
is falkon?
is qutebrowser?
>webmonkeys can't do shit
Wow, that was unexpected!
Sure I do.
It's extremely rare to have websites break with my sane defaults. I'd say it happens in something like maybe 1 in 100 cases. And on the mozilla website.
control+scroll, built into every browser and it doesn't break anything.
Just use Safari lmao
Enjoy your shit zoom artifacts on every image.
Is that text only?
pay attention---not talking about just zoom here.
xD sure showed me
>is safari it's own browser?
No, it's not.
>is brave?
No.
>is qupzilla?
>is falkon?
These are the same thing, and no.
>is qutebrowser?
No.
so you're a retard then
ok
This just in: there are only 2 web browsers
You can enable it in the menu View > Zoom > Zoom text only. There's pretty much no reason to use it.
>It's not retarded to zoom text in a program whose only purpose is rendering text (HTML) into an image (the rendered page).
Complaining about the increased sized text breaking the untouched structure is retarded, though. But I do understand the point that Mozilla should ensure that their pages always render properly on their own fucking browser no matter what retarded functionality is enabled.
Good comeback.
BRUH
NO WAY
Dillo is one.
stop replying to me, you big dumb gay
the meme browsers don't offer anything the big two's official and derivatives can't.
Dillo is garbage
prove me wrong
>they have disabled access to local files for extensions
This is a sane idea though.
Even as an advanced user it's fucking impossible to keep an eye on what extensions are doing. True, if you have firejail, apparmor, selinux, systemd-nspawn or such set up to contain FF, then it'd be easier for you if applications were allowed to do "everything" and only your containment handles separation, but that's not how it works on most people's machines... and extensions and browsers best just shouldn't be able to read local files at will.
mozilla went from this[picrelated]
to this
yuck
>that shadow
looks like babby's first web page.
I didn't realise this was a discussion about quality.
>users upload their lifes story into the cloud, not giving a fuck about a shit and lose all dignity
>BUT AT LEAST NO EVUL HAX0R COULD CHANGE THEIR NEW TAB DEFAULTS
