Website on a budget?

Hosting a website on a low budget - Is this even possible? Site would only contain text and images, so no need for ton of storage and bandwidth. How much am I expected to pay per year for domain+web-hosting?

I host multiple websites, it costs me average €60 per year per site. Use a good host, pay the minimum fee, I strongly suggest guru hosting if you live in Europe.

Domains like .com I consider affordable, also posting here for quicker replies. I'll look into these.

I'm looking for cheaper options, and yes, I live in EU.

free tier ec2 instance on aws

Check out lowendbox.com/

You can get hosting for as low as $5/year

you can get a really minimal free website at neocities and similar sites.
no domain name and limited storage tho
but lifetime hosting for free and no forced adds or other shit free sites force you to use.

.tk domains are also free. However because of this a lot of shitty anti-virus mark them as dangerous

$10/year for a .com domain from namecheap(although domains can be cheaper or more expensive, depending on the TLD), $2.5/month for a cheap VPS from wherever.

Isn't Amazon offering a very cheap host for static websites?

$10 for domain name
$0 for hosting on Heroku

They only allow 1 free app, but you can get around this by creating multiple accounts. Also, it powers off after 30 mins, so the next time someone accesses your site it may take them 2-5 seconds to open your page.

A simple nodejs server should be quite adaquete for your needs.

If you've got heavy media, you can parr that stuff off to bigger companies to host, like PhotoBucket, YouTube, etc.
If you wanted to be on point
>encrypt porn vid and upload to YT
>from your site, download and decrypt porn vid, then remove all YT association
It can be done. The video would be intelligible to normies who stumble upon it on YT, and Google can't exactly second guess your intent when YT's full of shit videos.

I've got a recipe blog hosted on AWS for less than a dollar a month. Some months it's free.
The domain was 8 bucks. Might be a bit more to renew it but I can always use a different one. It's just for family use.

AWS or similar can host your static files and serve them over a domain. Very cheap. You don't even need a VPS, just a file storage / CDN, like S3. Choose either AWS or Google Cloud, whichever you like better.

For a blog or something light that is only text and images?

I recommend netlify, they host your static site for free.

Get a meme domain for like a dollar a year.

If you need comments, you can go the free (but extreme botnet) route and use discus or facebook comments.

There is also github pages, gitlab pages and neocities for static site hosting, but I prefer netlify because they give you SSL encryption on your custom domain for free.

Never paid for lamp hosting, used introduction packages , you prbably can't use bloated cms, though.

I'm going to start looking into free servlet container hosting, just so I have an excuse to use java more.

GitHub Pages.

if you don't care for botnet, you can upload your html and image files to google drive or onedrive and set it up with DriveToWeb, free
