Isn’t displaymate bullshit shillshit?

Yes.

I have no idea but I can't see how an iPhone with a 2688×1242 resolution display with 458 PPI can be better than an Android device with a 1440p display and higher PPI, such as the Galaxy Note 9

Samsung makes the displays, I have a moto z with same display generation as the s7 my phone has a better display than an iPhone x is every parameters, imagine what s8 and S9 would have

I think resolution isn't the only thing that makes a great display great. Color reproduction, pixel layout and brightness are also important.
I tried a demo unit XS Max recently and I was really impressed by the display, but I don't see how it can be at least as good as the Note 9's. Why Apple doesn't use 1440p displays (especially on their big screen phone) is confusing to me, but I don't know shit about display quality desu. I only know when a display is nice looking and when it's shit.

yup, they're essentially apple's little bitch

My LG G4 is 534 PPI. At least as far as resolution goes, it's objectively inferior to other phones, even old ones like mine.

They named the Galaxy S9 the best display ever over the iPhone X a few months ago, so they seem to suck both Apple and Samsung dick.

They get their displays from Samsung, of course they’re the best

Because resolution and PPI aren't the only factors when it comes to determining how good a screen is.

Why the fuck would anyone care? What exactly is it that you do on your phone that warrants anything more than a standard 1080p IPS display?
>muh resolution
Literal autism. Unless you carry a magnifying glass you don't need anything beyond 1080p.
>muh black levels
Unironically cease breathing if you watch movies on a fucking phone.

If fags like you had their way we would have never moved up to 1080p on phones in the first place. You retards said the same things about 480 -> 720 -> 1080. It's always better to have better technology.

This. So much this. Why doesn't every phone have a 4k screen by now? What the fuck are they even doing.

There is a limit though. Samsung for example ships their newer models internally with 1080p and 1440p is only upscaling which most likely than not takes battery life with it.

Hardware upscaling doesn't really have a lot of impact on battery life. Also, that's still the same shit that retards said about phones moving past 480p screens.

>OLED

Possibly, they're both samshit displays lmao.

Well, display were for the most time under 5". What's the point of 1080p for example on a 4.5" or a smaller screen? Come on, there is obviously a reasonable limit.
>Hardware upscaling doesn't really have a lot of impact on battery life
Think again.

Displays*
For the longest time*
Jesus...

>What's the point of 1080p for example on a 4.5" or a smaller screen? Come on, there is obviously a reasonable limit.
Go power up one of your old phones and compare it to your modern phone. I had an LG Optimus S, which was 480x320 and 3.3". It looks like shit. Seriously.

>phones running below the native resolution of the display
>"t-this is a good thing. It conserves battery life!"
>"you wouldn't want to stifle innovation, would you, user?"

>Posts two clearly defective phones, not even showing the same imagine
So this is the power of Andjeets?

I'd rather have 480p upscaled to 1080p on a 1080p screen than 480p native on a 480p screen. Obviously it would be better to have the phone render at 1080p, but that's besides the point.

>wah they speak factual information about a brand I don't like, better post scat porn!

Actually the point is that a 5" 4k display on a phone doesn't make any fucking sense no matter what.
>480p
No one is talking about low resolution screens except you. In terms of usability/"""productivity""" there is little if any difference between 720p and 1080p on a 5" phone. The physical size is the limiting factor.

>No one is talking about low resolution screens except you.
Yeah because literally everything you retards are saying was what people said a few years back with 480p. The problem is that you were a pre-teen zoomer at the time so you think that this is all some new shit.

>"hurrrr I literally have zero arguments"
>"what to do, what to do?"
>"fuck, I know"
>"ZOOOMER!! REEEEE!!"
Fuck off and die, fampai.

I can't help it if you've never seen a 480p phone before, so you have no basis for actually understanding what you're shittalking about. Even a 3.2" phone at 480p looks like shit, but people were still saying we shouldn't got to 1080p or even 720p because of MUH BATTERY. Get fucked and stop trying to stifle progress.

Nigger, I grew up with ultra-low resolution monochrome garbage. You're the fucking zoomer and it's really showing. Again, cease fucking breathing, retard.

I'm a 27 year old boomer with the disposable income to buy nice things. You're either a child or poorfag, which is why you hate that people can buy nicer things than you have, and want to drag all technology down to the level of your shitphone.

Are you seeing a pattern yet?

You know what it sounds like to me? It sounds like you're just projecting. It's either that or some serious post-purchase rationalization.
Enjoy paying retard tax for the rest of your life, dumb fuck. Lmoaing@you're life.

I would find it hard to believe it bests the Note 9's, but I haven't used any Xs so I wouldn't know

Other than those the iPhone blows the note 9 out of the water with color accuracy, brightness, and overall look. Those together create an overall better display

Are you retarded? They're just pictures of black. The older iPhones used LCD IPS displays which look like shit and have literally infinitely less contrast than OLED.

Literally not the argument on hand, samdrone

Displaymate: "Moto G best display ever. Absolutely amazing."

That Samsung makes the best displays in the business because iPhones use their oleds?

Cite your sources faggot.

Afaik the note and xs use the same panel basically. Apple just tunes it to be more color accurate while Samsung saturates the colors.

Plus it is also important to mention the note allows you to modify the colors, the iPhone does not.
