Use it to make hipster films and then show them to actual hipster filmmakers to make them cry because none of the video editor "VHS" effects they use are particularly convincing.

What makes this picture of baby yoshi so interesting? It's just a super mario world yoshi sprite right?
Wrong
What makes this sprite interesting is how hilariously wrong yet subtly different it is from a regular yoshi sprite.
Just to start, the colors are completely off. But surely that can be explained as someone making this sprite from reference and not having the actual colors or a rom? But even that doesn't explain why the feet of the sprite are colored a uniform brown color instead of the two different colors in the accurate sprite representation
But that's not all
While the sprite dimensions are actually perfect and the pixel size is general accurate, several pixels are subtly in the wrong place. The most obvious is the tail, which is shortened for no apparent reason in this sprite, but more subtle imperfections are on the back of the head and just below the eye with a misplaced black and white pixel respectively. One of the most subtle pixel mistakes is just in front of the eye on top of the nose. One of the pixels is not perfectly sized and is actually not block sized like the rest of the pixels but rectangular meaning whoever created this sprite was manually creating the pixels at an increased aspect ratio instead of just doing it using actual pixels and scaling it up.
But the most bizarre and unexplainable thing about this image is the eyes. The eyes are full of artifacts giving them a subtle red color. Why are the eyes full of presumably jpeg artifacts in a png image where everything else is uniform color with no artifacting? There's no clear answer to that.
At this point you may be saying yourself "Someone created this image as a troll, they're must be having a laugh" but you'd be wrong. This image? It was created dead serious by a relatively unknown artist in 2009 and went unnoticed for years until found by the humble users of Jow Forums board s4s in late 2016, 7 years after its creation.
We may never know the full story behind this image
No.
>are you really taking pictures?
>it's not on don't worry about it
I miss pre 9/11 society. He's got a fucking videocamera pointed at you, he's narrating, and now he tells you it's not on?

clearly it's a botnet
Because my job title is "extended family's personal IT helpdesk" I get asked to convert old home videos to digital. I get paid for it and I've come to like the task because I get an insight as to what my aunts' and uncles' lives were like leading up to the late 2000s, and play with neat old media technology.
>VHS-C with the motorized VHS adapters, pic related

It's fun

Yosho beat spikeman
You stop that.
I actually went through the effort to downloading the original 271 x 274 image from the source, and sure enough this is what I got from increasing the brightness and contrast. Spooky.
[s4s] has already performed extensive research on this: funposting.online/yosho
This begs the question of why only the black pixels have artifacts
>we'll never know the truth
Why not asking creator of this sprite?
put me in the screencap
