this is plain antisemitism.
you are reported to the jidf.
Ath9k here and ath9k-htc :3
imagine living in a timeline where you have to pick between chinks or jews. might as well suicide.
intel wifi is pretty good
I'm renting and can't break the wall for ethernet cables so my Ryzen desktop has an Intel wifi card on a PCI-E adaptor.
>intel wifi is pretty good
not gnu/libre.
>intel wifi is pretty good
Until you fall for the freetard meme where nothing works and you need specific hardware for specific setups that barely work
You don't.
Buy Broadcom
>broadcom
It just werks.
>but muh autismo ganoo freetard shit
kill yourself
>it just works
>but doesn't on linux just kys lmao
Atheros has been top tier for a long time OP. How old are you?
I have this in my thinkpad and im using manjaro linux. Does that mean I'm using non free drivers? If so, whats a cheap (
It does work on linux though.
You just have to install the proprietary drivers.
iwlwifi is GPL, the firmware isn't.
git.kernel.org
Unless you want to use a fsf approved OS because Intels WiFi drivers and firmware is proprietary
Which is a messy driver that depends on some deprecated kernel modules.
The drivers are free, the firmware isn't.
>being an autistic neckbeard
This really is a pickle. Intel Wifi adapters are still the best ones I have ever used, and still use today. I usually "build" my own, by getting just the exact model I want as mini-pcie, and then smack it in a cheap chink mini-pcie to regular pcie adapter card. Cheapest, and easiest and most solid solution.
I always have issues, either hardware or driver if I buy a dedicated pcie wifi adapter from both lesser and well known brands.
It still doesn't work, it's a mess with literally 90%+ packet loss.
Bt/wifi combo cards don't without firmware you get from windows drivers.
>Atheros
meh
>Broadcom
Enjoying your below 100mbit throughput?
Nice.
What is 5ghz ac?
>tfw realtek pleb
>tfw no working linux drivers
>WIFI
>wanting to use certain software makes you an autistic neckbeard
Well it still either doesn't work or require substantially more work than it should be to make it work. Man I just want to use free software and have working WiFi
>no working linux drivers
FUD
>that 30 year old boomer who doesn't use wifi
intel's network cards are notoriously shit
Who says that?
