Is there a similar less pretentious site like news.ycombinator.com ? I'm mean, Jow Forums is full of kids arguing about nonsense. Where do you get your tech news?

And arguing about JS-nonsense[0] on hackernews is any better?

While it's funny, it isn't really useful. It won't ever include sane, pure technical posts, as there is nothing to mock about them.
That site is like a propaganda firm of Spyggle.

News is generally good, though science news is too "cool". Comments in the forum is really all over the place.

No. It's way more leftist than HN.
All tech news is, like regular news, mostly useless shit. The sooner you stop following it the better.
It is of no consequence at all to know about X plans for product Y and how it compares to Z. It is all just noise. I used to follow tech news and new developments quite closely but now I just don't care anymore.
If I need something I just do some research and buy something, which only happens sporadically anyways since I am not a gaymen anymore.
