CPU
>R3 2200G - Bare minimum gaming(dGPU optional)
>R5 2400G/i5-8400 - Consider IF on sale
>R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs
>Wait for 9700k - Almost surely best for 1080p gaming
>R7 2700/X - Best high-end gaming/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform
>Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT

RAM
>8GB - Enough for most gaming use
>16GB - Standard for heavy use
>32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal

Graphics cards
>RTX 2000 cards are worse performance per $ than current GPUs. Just a marketing gimmick to rip off idiots
>Avoid cheap MODELS ie MSI Armor (Mk2 is ok), Gigabyte G1/Wf, ASUS dual, and others which have small heatsinks and low quality fans
1080p
>RX 570/580 /w Freesync or 1060 6GB are standard 1080p 60fps+ options
>1050 3Gb or RX560 for lower settings and/or older games
>GTX 1070Ti/Vega 56 if seeking higher FPS /w a high hz monitor
1440p
>Vega 56; 1070Ti/1080 if you already have Gsync
>GTX 1080Ti if seeking higher FPS /w a high hz monitor
4K
>Upscale from 1620-1800p. Maybe 2080Ti, but awful value.
OpenCL work
>Vega 64

Storage
>Backup before using StoreMi
>Consider getting a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & large HDD
>2TB HDDs are barely more $ than 1TB
>M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard

Display
>Consider 75hz minimum; 60hz are mostly old models.
>Always consider FreeSync with AMD cards
>___sync is important for slower response time monitors (IPS)
>PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING

first

is the msi 1080ti duke a good buy?

What's the important aspect that I need to see before picking a SSD.
I'm going for a really cheap/low-end because things are expensive were I live, so I can't really get EVO something.
Is the Q8, Q32 or sequential random read?

Anyone else worried about tariffs?

Attached: 936368748.png (500x500, 68K)

For a good read/write average. Max IOPS operations in read/write.
Go for 256GB minimum since they have better speeds from there.

See if you cannot order online. Just got a 370€ GPU for 230€ on NA-Amazon.
Crutial MX500 250GB for less than 70€ here(vat included)

Anything with 3D NAND is fine. Which afaik don't come any smaller than 240Gb.
One with cache like the MX500 or 860 Evo if you are sure you need something faster. But cache-less 3D NAND SSDs perform really well and tend to outperform older non-3D NAND models which have cache.

Any X470 motherboards that don't cost out the ass?

I was looking for a new GPU for my computer and i realized something. the RX 560 4G GPU I was looking at (the MSI RX 560 AERO ITX 4G OC) cost less than half of the cost of the RX 580 8G GPU (the MSI RX 580 ARMOR MK2 8G OC). Not only that, the RX 560 has Crossfire support, thus I could install two of them. I'm wondering what the difference would be between spending $268 for two RX 560s and spending $275 for one RX 580. How much of a power difference would be between the two?
>Current MOBO: MSI X99A Raider
>Current CPU: I7-5820K
>Current GPU: MSI Radeon R7 370 4G

Any AMD fags here?
I see those RAM sticks made for *3** series mobos. Is it also required for *4** series mobos to avoid compatibility issues, or is it fixed?

Crossfire is not supported by every games and the performance increase is not interesting enough to justify it.
Just get a 580 and you'll be fine.

MSI Gaming Plus/Pro is the cheapest that's actually decent.
But you really may as well get the Tomahawk or Mortar.

RAM compatibility is quite good for 400 series boards except for Gigabyte.

2 RX560s is a lot slower than 1 RX580.

brainlet who never owned a decent gaming PC before. I have an opportunity to buy this for ~850 dollars, give or take:

>case
DIYPC D480-W-RGB
>CPU
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
>motherboard
Biostar X370GT7 Ver. 5.x
>PSU
Seasonic SSR-650RM 650W 80 PLUS Gold ATX12
>RAM
16gb 2x8gb PNY 2400mhz DDR4 ram
>Graphics card
MSI Armor GTX 1070
>storage
240 gb SSD + 2tb HDD
>comes with a wifi adapter, windows 10 preinstalled, and several games

is it a good deal?

You can make better for cheaper. No. Used should cost considerably less. Like $700.

nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/nRwsvn

Thinking about getting this system soon, on the fence about the gpu though, not sure it I should go 1070ti titanium...

Oh god please avoid Biostar, with the might of Zeus please change that motherboard.

Where are you going to buy that 8600K for under $400? Massive Intel CPU shortage man.

It'll be about $400

Why not get a 2700X for that money? In fact you could even slot in an extra keyboard and mouse by saving that $80.

>RTX 2070

So is it worth it waiting for this coffee lake refresh?

The craziest part about that is that despite Sony talking up the tech and performance of the PS3, the Xbox 360 actually wound up being the vastly more capable machine with its unified shader architecture and the shared edram.

Yes. Considering that Intel's knockoff SMT is dogshit and full of security holes, but 6 threads also isn't enough, so if you're dumb enough to buy Intel then 8c/8t bingbus is the best Intel config to go with.

Is there any ryzen gen 2 Mobo that you CANT overclock G.skill RAM from 2400 to 2666 on?

What is the maximum you jews would pay for this system:

>CPU
Ryzen 5 1500X
>Motherboard
Gigabyte AB350N-GAMING
>RAM
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz 16 GB (Not the best I know)
>GPU
EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
>PSU
Focus SSR-650PX 650 W Seasonic Platinum 80 Plus Fully Modular
>Case
Corsair Obsidian Series 250D mini-ITX
>OS
Windows 10 (Probably OEM)

+2 Noctua NF-F12PWM 120 mm Case Fans

comes with some irrelevant brand of 128GB SSD

Curious if I should wait for any possible RX 590 news and see if GTX 10 cards drop in price.

Hi guys, i have this:
>Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU
>Asus P8Z77
>Kingston DDR3-1600 8192MB PC3-12800 x 2
>Samsung 840 series 120GB
>Seagate Desktop HDD 7200.14 3T
>Gigabyte PCI-Ex Radeon HD7950 WF3 3072MB GDDR5
It was bought in 2012 and now i have 2 000 $ for upgrade. What part(s) should i replace to gain maximum profit?

whats a good 750w power supply for a high end graphics card?

Help is Acer GN246HL any good? I want to upgrade from 60Hz to 144Hz and a local computer store has them for quite cheap.

Attached: acer.jpg (500x439, 37K)

all of them but the HDD

I was thinking the same. No real problem with waiting another month after all

Hey, this might be a noob question but when it comes to fps and screen tearing, could I just limit the number of frames to say 130 hz on a 144hz monitor instead of paying the extra 200 bucks for gsync?

anyone know a good build for $800? I want to use it mainly for illustration and animation. maybe some light 3d modeling if that's possible

Can not afford full upgrade at a time =/

I'm confused you said you had $2000, which is plenty for a full system upgrade

I checked only ssd prices and it was like 900$ for 4gb samsung. Thought all other parts will be just as expensive.

maybe don't buy a $900 SSD? I'm not recommending this build specifically but as an idea of what you can get for under $2k

pcpartpicker.com/guide/dDdnTW/gaming-streaming-and-editing-build

coz amd sux

I use XB271HU 144hz 1440p and it's fuckin amazing

Ssd now is my problem because 120Gb system drive is always out of space, so i thought updating to high size ssd and getting rid of hdd completely would be nice.
Also this does not look like real update, but thanks anyway, will check prices for other parts.

how dumb can you be

Which noctua fans are best to use as case fans? I was going to get 3 nf-s12a's (2 intake, 1 exhaust) but I read that nf-p12 might be better for intake since my case has a dust filter.

thanks for the input
someone already won the bid anyway, so I guess I really dodged a bullet
>You can make better for cheaper
mind sharing an example?

>built first pc a couple years ago
>works great, never had second thoughts
>suddenly realize I have no idea which PCI E slot I put my graphics card in

I'm going to have to take it apart and look, aren't I?

no
t. tax mangled europoor

Is it ok to get a 4k as my second monitor if I'm just planning to use it for the internet and watching anime only?

the only good reason to buy a huge 4k screen is to watch anime

Why is gskill charging so much for this TZRX ram? Is it just because it's tuned for ryzen or some shit? I see other kits going for around $150

Would an i5 4590 and a 1060 3gb be enough for 60fps 1080p?

So is that a yes or no?

I don't know why user said you could do better for less, but here's a similar but nicer in some regards build for ~$850. Yeah it's only a 1060, but that'll be good for 60-120 frames per second gaming at 1080p resolution. I'm running the same gpu and play the Witcher 3 and Battlefield at between 60 and 80 frames per second.
pcpartpicker.com/list/wYwLbX

No. 4 threads does not reliably do 60fps minimums. It hasn't even in many 2013 games let alone new ones.

definitely, fonts on retina so much better
no 4k anime

What games would the cpu bottleneck. I was more concerned about the 3gb vram.

I just got a 1080 used for 4 months for mining for half the price as new with 19 month left waranty

Did I do good?

Don't get the Duke, get at least the gaming

brainlet here.
How do I install Windows via 3.0 usb.
Currently have Mint, but wanna play some geames

just upscale with madvr or autistic shaders on mpv, it's god tier on a good screen

I found this guide
itsfoss.com/bootable-windows-usb-linux/

>2700x for $400nz

I'm looking for a gaming pc. How much can a budget of $1000 get me?

Soundcards worth the little extra money or is the onboard audio enough?

It's usually more than enough. The main advantage of a sound card is not quality but the amplifier. only to consider if you have 50+ohms headphones.

>there are actual retards who bought 1080Tis (obsolete) and Ryzens (utter shit)

Attached: 333.jpg (800x450, 36K)

Literally me.

>breathlessly sprints into the room while pissing and shitting myself to hand you your (You)

Thinking about buying Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-42-R5ZY) budget around 1000 dollars.
Mainly for web occasionally some older game. current setup is 9 years old.

I don't get it.
Did you just want to tell everyone you were fantasizing about shitting and pissing yourself?
Was it meant to provide a sardonic cast to your pathetically ironic narcissistic projection?
Why do you even post? It isn't funny to anyone.

Installed it, nothing changed

Go on their website.

I bought a $10 windows 10 pro key off of ebay. It activated but is there anything I could later regret like it deactivating later?

A key can only be in use by one person at a time, so if they sell the same one again later yours will deactivate

But you could always complain to ebay and they'll almost certainly take the buyer's side anyway

Anyone have experience with these two monitors?
Theres not a whole lot of selection on 27inch 1440p gsync monitors out there and im cant decide between tn and ips

Attached: firefox_2018-09-26_05-22-32.png (969x122, 19K)

It's stated pretty clearly in the post, trip fag.

If I can get a 1060 6GB for a reasonable price, is it still worth buying in late 2018?

TN when only gaymen
IPS when also watching chinese slideshows

If your processor is also relatively dated, it's still good enough to handle 1080p 60fps in most games.

Is the slower response times with ips panels really noticeable?

For Laymen like us, not really, no.

Most of those response times stats are out of ass anyway, it's more on model by model basis.
The more expensive models of IPS for gaymen have such unnoticeable difference compared to TN that it's pointless to fight for each ms.
It reminds me of times where people actually thought that LCD is better than CTR for gaming when delay was over 30ms.

>It reminds me of times where people actually thought that LCD is better than CTR for gaming when delay was over 30ms.
No one ever thought that. CTR were always a king

I need help, anons. I sent my PSU to the shop because the fan was rattling and they said they'll replace it within 2-3 weeks. It was a Seasonic M12ll 750w bronze fully modular.
It started acting weird after I got my GTX 1080 Ti card.

I need a new power supply. Here are my specs
>Intel i7-8700 (will buy an 8086k in the future)
>ASUS z370 STRIX E motherboard
>Asus GTX 1080 Ti STRIX 11GB non-OC
>Noctua NH-D15
>Silverstone Primera 01 RGB case. It comes with an RGB controller and I plugged it to the motherboard

I saw a PSU tier list before but I lost the link. Thanks anons

Just like Apple is the "king" now.
People have been brainwashed by corporates desperately trying to push light form LCD's for extra $.
Today display at least do SOME things CTR did.

here is your (You)

Is there a new APU coming soon from AMD ?
Or is the 2400g is all there is for now?
I can wait two months for a new refresh or a 7nm APU.

I'm getting a synology NAS and i'm picking drives for it. I was thinking if running 2 4TB WD reds in raid 1 but fir the same price i can get 2TB red pros, or shell out 200 bucks more for 4TB red pros. I'm nit sure how much storage I'll need, i think 2TB would be fine for a start, but 4 would kind of ensure I always have some space.

Anyone with some experience? WD Red vs Red Pro

Just so you understand, my card reaches 55-65max while heavy gaming, and the fan speed is 50% MAX, with a lot of the time it being down to idel at 33% fan speed and like 30deg idle.

Compare that to mining card running at
>Well this dude says it still has 1 year left on the warranty and "The cards were ran below 70C at 50-60% fan speed"
24/7.

Honestly buying a mining card is suck a cuck move. The people bought the cards, made it more expensive for you to buy any new cards. Mined money off it, ruined the card AND get to sell it back to you, at a high profit while the card has been abused to hell and back.

I really can't understand the amount of loss of perspective a person needs to help out the people who fucked him in the first place.

Any good mITX CPU cooler to recommend? Do any top flow does the trick?

>That feel when using a 144hz Freesync monitor with Enhanced Sync on with my Vega 64
Based AMD, this is so smooth. Like velvet.

I'm upgrading from my shitty 1050. Should I buy 1070 or 1080? Going by the benchmarks there isn't much difference but I'd have to pay $150 more for 1080.

There is a difference between 1070 and 1080, but not much between 1070ti and 1080.
If you have the money get 1070ti or 1080 depending on custom cards and price.

How low do you need to go?
What socket?

I wouldn't call them people.

150mm
AM4

Was thinking of the noctumeme NH-L12S (146mm) but i am afraid the flow will be obstructed.

That's quite a lot of space, if the stock cooler is too small for you, you could just get a Wraith Max (assuming yor not going with the 2700x already).
The Noctua L9x65 is pretty good and there's a Scythe Shurkien that should fit that. I don't like side blowing coolers in mITX builds so I'd go with top flow.
Post your build.

Case: Corsair 280x
Mobo: MSI Gaming plus AC(only MSI mITX/mATX with built in wifi)
CPU: Ryzen 2600x
GPU: Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE
RAM: G.Skill Flare X/Trident Z(waiting for a deal) 3200CL14 2x8
PSU: Seasonic something plus 450W Platinium+
SSD: 500GB+1TB EVO 860
HDD: Toshiba X300 5TB (7200rpm/128 cache)

I want to build a PC for my girlfriend who mainly plays Fortnite, Overwatch, and other zoomer games.

I already have a 1060 for her to use, but I still need pretty much everything else.
What should I get, would a Ryzen 3 be enough in this situation? Ryzen Apu?

Is cryptomining still fucking up RAM/GPU prices? Should I just get a pre-build?
Any good pre-builds if I do?

>narcissistic projection
Says the tripshit mentally ill attention whore. Were you neglected by your parents? Do you come from a broken family?

If I'm going to get a top end Z390 board when they come out, should I get ASUS or AORUS?
