Ryzen needs fast ram, especially the APUs.

It does matter
Any modern open world game with heavy asset streaming benefits from faster ram even on intel

It doesn't unless under extremely specific loads. Not even in your gmaes

So like rendering/export? I thought everyone does that, I guess I forget some people literally just play video games on their computers... Sad!

makes a difference for factorio at least

>rendering
Rendering what?
>export
Exporting what?

If you're referring to 3D graphics or videos, most people don't do that professionally.

He is some AMDrone so he is pretending he spends all day running blender and handbrake.

I recently bought a 2600X and there's not a single game I can't play just fine with sloppy 2666MHz memory
For the average user to get good results, mediocre hardware is more than enough these days (i.e. 4k gaming at +60 FPS)

No it doesn't matter, DDR5 is out in 2019!

good goy

>generic ram
>no
10/10

There are a few games that will struggle, but most will do 60+ alot will do 100+ at that speed

The issue is absolute fastest getts bottlenecked by ram at the moment.

Outside of games, sure ram matters in ram intensive workloads, but for the most part just having the ram to spare is good enough.

more ram > faster ram

It is, you dumb fuck. In witcher 3 3200 ram gives you like 20% more performance than 2400 in novigrad.

Musn't have been a very big factory then...

**Looks at 2x8gb generic ram I got 3 years ago when ram was cheap**
Damn, why did I have to cheap out?
I paid 70€ for the 2x Kingston stick (not hyperX). And to add insult to injury they are 2133mhz. I just checked how much 16gb of RipjawsV and the crucial would be. Over 200€ :/
I need a job ASAP

>witcher 3
what?

i recently overclocked my ram from
2666MHz and 15-17-17-36 timing to
3162MHz and 15-17-15-32 timing.

full systemd boot now about 30% faster.

that's only true for winfags.

Yes, especially if on Ryzen/Threadripper. You want DDR4 3000 to 3400 pretty much, with 3200 or 3400 being the point of diminishing returns once you pass it. So you don't need 4000 + and other super expensive stuff, get some 3200 and enjoy actual performance benefits

OP asked if it mattered. You answered "it's a meme" whether you meant to or not.

>having faster ram doesnt matter becuase even faster ram is coming soon
I am confused.

You mean the by far most used platform?

Would you have been happier with "if you're into gaming" as an answer.

Sorry not everyone uses their computer exclusively in the ways you would like?
