Spoken like a true Linux newb. All DEs are buggy and best usable in a rolling model with frequent updates. Not only are LDE and Xfce among the buggiest DEs, especially LDE, but that makes Ubuntu a shit base for them. Also, only slumdogs and hyperautists care about "lightweightness" on a user compy because even a 2013 ThinkPad can run KDE smoothly and has 8 GB of RAM.
