I want to install macOS Mojave mainly because of the dark theme and the improvements in Finder and the screenshots app, but after the disaster that was High Sierra I'm not sure if it's a good idea to update yet.
Has anyone installed Mojave in their Macs/Hackintosh? How fast and stable is it compared to Sierra and High Sierra? Have you found any bugs that might be too annoying to work with?
It seems most of the bugs are limited to 2016 and later Macbooks. I have had no issues on my Mac and the update has been worth it with all the new features. At this point I just want them to add more stuff to it.

>Dark theme is shit and inconsistent
Shit it is, but inconsistent? There's nothing more consistent. Everything looks the goddamn same there unless a program doesn't have a dark mode. Most classic programs do because they have to fit the theme, newer programs let you choose.

>Dark theme is shit and inconsistent Can you explain further? macOS dark theme looks good to me (or at least better than whatever the fuck Microsoft is doing with Windows 10).
Microsoft's idea of a dark theme is opaque, black flat blocks. It's absolutely stupid. They are still trying to come up with a solution for some parts of the system being either readable under the new dark explorer theme when it's a literal fucking color swap. No gradients, nothing. Just change colors. People with no skill have done this before, for fucks sake.
You can say whatever about dark mode on macOS, I don't exactly like it. But it is what it was supposed to be for a few years, and not any different. And it sure took more effort than that shit.

What monitor do you use? They turned subpixel font rendering off and you may want to turn it back on with terminal depending on your monitor. As for stability, at least for me, it just works on my hackintosh laptop, no crashes, graphical freezes/stutters or kernel panics.
>macOS >user likes faggotry Really makes you think
Robert Hernandez
Coming from High Sierra on a 2014 MacBook Pro, it's a good update. Wakes up from sleep much more quickly, everything feels faster and more stable (including Safari), and Dark Mode is cool.
It's a 2014 MBP with retina screen. I read a bit about that subpixel rendering problem, but a lot of people said that it only affects low DPI screens (like the screens of old Macs).
Have you experienced font rendering problems like says?
I used wangblows 12 years ago, sadly it was super effective on your mom.

Paid 0$ for apple, their devices may be chinkshit but their desktop operating system is the best

In this case it does look better, because that particular part is glitchy with some highlight colors, if you would have seen the whole picture, fonts look much better with subpixel rendering enabled

That's interesting, fags don't usually interact with females. You must have confused her with one of your tranny escorts

Can you post pictures of the font rendering on a HiDPI screen? On another note, is APFS still buggy like in High Sierra?
Ethan Young
As someone who definitely had some issues with APFS for a while, I have been using it without trouble.
Brandon Clark
I am having a few issues; magnifier in preview is very laggy, split screen dragging is also laggy sometimes.
Additionally the touch bar favorites icons in safari are divided between the old ones and the new favicons. But that may be because I'm on the golden master right now.
I am very happy with dark mode and I feel that it's very easy on the eyes especially in conjunction with night shift. I'd update personally.
Hudson Nelson
I should mention that this is on a 2018 MBP 15. I've heard some stuff about font issues on older Macs.
Brandon Davis
It's not even buggy in High Sierra anymore

I fucking hate the Jow Forums mods, they always let Netflix shills threads, but delete Lain threads or whatever thread related to anime, they even banned me for posting Maki.

Pretty accurate.

I guess the pics were too lewd for a blue board. At least I know what I'll get if I install Mojave.
One last question. Did you perform a clean installation, or did you upgrade from a previous version?
Some users mentioned earlier that Mojave changed the way fonts are rendered and made them look worse in low-res screens. Apparently there's a way to fix it.
Yeah, they delete tech anime related threads, but Mr Robot and other series stay until page 10, I don't understand the difference, yesterday a thread for currently Netflix show stayed until page 10, I don't see how that more technology related than Lain or any other show, they also banned me for posting a Maki picture.
According to moot, this is an anime website, and also according to moot, reddit is better than this. Alas, he's not the admin anymore, so he currently doesn't get to decide whether this is an anime website or not.

What apfs issues? Just curious of what you've encountered.
