Sorted

What projects you have on your GitHub?

>On any given day, five of the ten trending repos are "Awesome" lists
>An awesome list is when you Google a topic and place the top ten hits in a list
>This is more valuable than years of writing code

How about you link your projects then? Of course it takes ages before someone stumbles across your repos by accident.

post your profile then so i can follow you

non-programmer here, how does github work?

what if my code sucks? how do I contribute to a project and get accepted?

post github. I'll follow you, sempai

If the repo owners don't accept your code, just fork their project.

Not OP, but I've posted it here before so might as well

There's nothing much that's worth building off of now, but I'm working on something that hopefully has a bit more star potential.

>no one is interested in your nth Jow Forums scraper/*booru gallery

>tfw always instantly removes my comments on issues in popular repos because I don't want drag attention to myself and spend my time replying to other people's stupid suggestions, issues and commits

Fuck it's crazy I posted this before seeing you had actually posted your github link and it literally has the scraper and booru things on it
I'm the puppet master

If I'm not a programmer what can I put on github?

Your cv. Anything really.

Some people put there CAD projects, websites (their cringe blogs), LaTeX stuff, maybe you could technically even use it for OBJ files? Who knows. Anything mentioned above is better than i3 configs.

nobody is starring or following your repo because your code projects aren't interesting and don't solve problems they have
nobody cares about your dotfiles, why even have them public?

Github has free hosting now? Or is it just buying a domain from other companies and placing static pages there?

I sometimes get random clones but no views. Are there bots randomly cloning repos?

You can host static pages at username.github.io/reponame.
You could write your cringe blog with git commits.

You can contribute by writing documentation for existing projects. For example, writing a FAQ or fixing typos in READMEs.

We need links, user.

I have no Github, because I don't have quality projects worthy of publishing.

I thought I was the only one who did this

>tons of anime pedo fag's shit

Let's follow each other, then github.com/caioalonso

To be fair those lists sometimes have nice things on them that would take a while to find on your. They still shouldn't be hosted on github.

At this point, only if you're already using databricks stuff.
The "projects" is basically a makefile in yaml/jinja, which is nice but not worth the dependency. "models" is useful if you want to use one of their targeted services, but not really otherwise. "tracking" is the component I'm using. It collects numbers and renders graphs, and it does it fine, but I feel like grafana would do the job better.

You can customize which repositories are displayed on your profile page, just pin the ones you want instead of only showing the "popular" ones.

>IsItAnime
Nice! I unironically was looking [casually] for something like this. If you could make IsItFrog, then I could finally filter all those silly frogposters for once and for all.

>And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee
It would probably work fine, but you'd need a collection of ~20,000 labeled frogposter images to train on (and non-frog, but that's easier). At that point you might as well give up
Glad to see people are using it though. Hosting is basically free, and it's nice when the cloudwatch graph isn't empty

Attached: 1523809339571.png (486x296, 9K)

>all private repos

feels good man

>~20,000 labeled frogposter images
Sorry for the ignorance, but what do you mean with "labeled"?
It would be enough if I sent you pictures in two directories: frogs, non-frogs? or do you need something else?

Labeled -> you know whether it's a frog or not. Directories would be fine.
I'd be more worried about data balance. One of the problems with isitanime.website is that it frequently misclassifies western cartoons, because I don't have enough western cartoons in the training set, and it's easy to mistake them for anime based on simple features like color blocks. If you're collecting a frog dataset, you want about 50% frogs, 40% barely-not-frogs, and 10% clearly-not-frogs.

can't you torrent some long western cartoon series, then use ffmpeg to split into frames? Then ditch things like fade-to-black bits, time-bound bits to avoid credits, and other easy to filter things.

I'm sure you'd get quite a lot of samples

For the pepe set, you could make a tampermonkey script to download all images whose posts get replied "dumb frog poster" to.

As well as all the google search images that contain a majority of green.

And any R34 tagged with pepe

Though, for pepe, I think it may be better to run a separate model, and strip input into black and white, keeping only the outlines, then run a convnet on it.

>host a website for a general on Jow Forums board

Post link

What general?

showderp on /vp/, please don't dox

I've been thinking about doing this. It's been a while since I last touched the model, and it's accumulated a good bit of extra data by now (mostly thanks to one dude who scripted through his entire fap folder). I'd have to sample from a lot of cartoons, to make sure to get a representative sample.

The problem with this kind of thing is it's really noisy. For example, you'd expect that you can get anime images from /a/ and non-anime images from /co/, but it's like 90% for /a/ and about 50% from /co/ (they post a lot of anime there too)
And manually cleaning is really, really tedious.

Feature engineering is definitely something I'd like to work on. Right now it's just a straight conv of the inputs, and I feel like some filtering and color analysis might bump the accuracy a bit.

That anime shit is pretty cool.

>one dude who scripted through his entire fap folder
that's hilarious

btw, here's a 1.9TB torrent of 2.94m anime images:
gwern.net/Danbooru2017#torrent

I wonder what's the legality of using this

>This project is not officially affiliated or run by Danbooru, however, the site operator Albert has given his permission for scraping

Should be fine, unless you're referring to legality of some of the images

>zero fucks given

My repos are just solutions to very niche problems I've encountered in some of my projects, so I don't expect any attention or avid following. I'm also on bitbucket which has fewer social features and a smaller community.

Attached: 1510674561409.jpg (691x733, 356K)

Cute http server.

>thousands of github stars
>hundred of github followers
I feel nothing. It boosts your ego for a short time, but afterwards you pay a high price in support and maintenance. I've stopped open sourcing so much code on GitHub just so that I don't have to support it. If you are clever, you will find my new repos anyway.

I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Link your github, I'll give you 500 stars. I sell social media stats, but github is my least demeanded, because only fucking niggers and women care about it.

Trust me anons, you don't want your project to explode
The amount of dumb fuck retards who will open issues because they didn't even read the fucking readme.md is insane, it will make you lose faith in humanity.
Same with gitter.io - don't make one.
We literally had to remove the issues page because it got so bad.
I even had to close several issues of people trying to run my software that was specifically designed to run under Linux only on Win32.
Then you find out people are just selling your work to other people, and when it doesn't work they come and complain to you.
But at least I got 500 virtual internet points ouo

Attached: 1538170680324.png (500x500, 296K)

who care about github?

github.com/meh this is mine!

I got chronic depression and acquired general anxiety disorder and am extremely suicidal, as shown by the last year of contributions, send help!

Github isn't a social network, it's a place to do work. Why would anyone waste time with "starring" or "following" someone?

>what if my code sucks?

It only needs to suck less than what's there already.

Don't try to contribute to, say, Redis. if you suck. Do contribute to most npm packages.

It is a social network, user. Otherwise, no one would use it and use GitLab instead.
But interface (+1) and the fact that fucking everybody is on it (+9999) heavily indicates to keep being penetrated by M$ squidgirl's tentacles. u3u
Also, I follow programmers who are friends.

>mostly thanks to one dude who scripted through his entire fap folder

Let me guess, he uploaded his entire fap folder, which was all labelled accurately as "is anime".

This. Try opening an issue on your favorite Linux utility in GitLab. And go fuck yourself because the maintainer hasn't signed in in months. Then try doing it on GitHub where it actually gets eyes and responses in hours.
If your shit isn't on GH, you at least have to be to collab.

Why don't you livestream your boobs and flash your vagina on youtube/twitter. You'll get some followers and attention you are starved of.

Cleaning the data took the longest. About 40K instances scraped from /a/, /co/, safebooru, imgur, and the imagenet dataset.
Training took a couple hours on a t2.2xlarge (I'll probably upgrade to a GPU instance next time). Total cost to train about $5
Hosting is basically free because I managed to compress it down enough to fit in a lambda (that's what github.com/antonpaquin/Tensorflow-Lambda is for). With my settings I get about 20K API calls / month free and I could turn down the performance to roughly triple that with only a small hit to latency. FaaS is pretty ideal for stuff nobody ever uses

Nobody ever posts the successes...

Mostly anime. Mostly loli actually. And the non-anime stuff was a bunch of photos of underaged sex dolls. I can not confidently say that I'm not hosting CP on Amazon servers, but I figure since I'm not distributing it if they find any they'll just ask/tell me to delete it instead of calling the cops.

Attached: 1513163755885.jpg (1300x1300, 460K)

Lol user don't fuck up your future by trying to by edgy.
Everyones like loli porn, but being associated with it is a gg for even being a store clerk if you're put on a registry.

Holy shit, the man himself.

>Lots of work in rust
How is it compared to C or C++?
It looks like rust isn't just used by SJWs anymore, and I recently watched Brian Cantrill saying it's meant for "software that will outlast us" which seems pretty cool. On the other hand, I pretty regularly do unholy things to pointers and it seems like rustc would not like that.

Github is not your facebook you retarded millennial.
You do not have to be validated by random people on the internet in order to do your fucking job/hobbie

You should consider an hero

Attached: 1534098927404.jpg (837x500, 39K)

Much better than both, still feel the lack of some things from C++ and Haskell but the best language available right now in my opinion for many things.

What worries me is the direction it's taking because of the people in leadership positions, a lot of questionable design decisions have been made recently and it's only going to get worse, one of the reasons being the loss of important figures and the fact the RFC process doesn't scale.

Still half hopeful about it, but I also believe it's a stepping stone more than anything.

K. Most generals don't have websites. I though it was going to be /sug/.

A lot of meaningless repos
