yes, you can do it on linux with the xinput command.

2 mice would actually be good for editing images and 3d models.
im pretty sure it would already exist you would just need some weird driver from Wacom or Gehry Digital Project or DESSULT (airline designing software) or some thing and it might only work in the program not the OS.
