I'm running a relay on a raspberry pi for several years now. Using a static IP from my provider for it.
how'd you go about getting a static IP from your ISP? just asked them?
Nice try NSA
Not the user you replied to, but call your ISP and ask them for a static IP. The price may vary. I got charged anywhere from 0 to 2.5$ per month.
paying extra. Static IPs are usually available in offers aimed at (small) businesses.
>implying tor needs a static ip
And then pays extra for it.
I hope you at least donate 100 mbit/s

No need to go through the ISP, Gentoo has the ability to give you one, give that an install.
I would but i move a lot so it isn't really feasible
I considered running tor on VPS, because I have traffic limitations from ISP(Any I can choose at my location)
How? Without a static IP in WAN, how do you get static IP in wan without kind of proxyng? Who exactly provides this free proxy service?
Why I think it's a bait?

I ran one for a few months and then some guys in a van pretending to work on a utility pole kept haging around outside my house. I asked them what they were doing and they said fixing some power lines. My power was fine...
That guy's name? Albert Einstein.
On about the 3rd day i said to them "sure is taking a long time to fix that pole eh?" They just looked at me and smirked.
I don't donate to my bandwidth to pedophiles
Everybody knows Gentoo is a meme.
Tor is not used only for child porn.
Nsa is way ahead, retard.
No, but that's what it's mainly used for... That, and the sale of illegal goods.
I used to run a relay but my bandwidth isn't enough nowadays
I ran an exit Nide back in 2011, when histories of people getting swated over exit nodes didn't exist
based
Underrated.
I ran a TOR exit node once. Got a call from my ISP that day telling me to cease and desist or they will terminate service.
What am I in for?
None of that is needed. Run a server and don't let your modem get a power outage. I've had the same IP in 3 locations for 12 years. Non static
Always had one.
