>snips
>you can use it only if you have a brain
>sometimes challenging

Seen people use a raspberry pi and integrated it with something called snips. Looked really cool.

First time hearing Snips.
What does it do?
Give us more !

> Google Home
> Pros: Its Google, state of art tech, sleek look
> Cons: Privacy is ruined, all data gets fed to cloud.
> Advice: Dont have much, searching a non Google/ Amazon solution myself too.

I love Google Home, best one out there

snips.ai

privacy-oriented home assistant. some technical knowledge required

>Satele gf never

fuck off pajeet

ok

What could you possibly need a voice assistant for?

>snips.ai
>token sale

Oh no no no no, I fell down that rabbit hole with Jow Forums earlier this year and lost enough money doing that.

you can check mycroft
mycroft.ai/

they already have a product tho, blockchain is just gonna be another layer

Insignia Smart Alarm Clock

Pros: basically a Google home mini with a screen for the clock. Makes a good alarm by the bed in case I sleep through my phone.

Cons: can't do conversations or send texts through assistant, not a huge loss. I just wanna fall asleep to Spotify music, sleep timer works great

Jesus christ you people are retarded.

Wow, that sounds great. Price?

They've got two options, one can be unplugged and provides portable music for like 5 hours, another is smaller and stays plugged in (I have the small one).

Just checked, bestbuy has these sale prices still:

Small: 1 for $40 or 2 for $50
Portable/large: $35 each

I bought the 2 pack of the smaller ones since I already have a Bluetooth speaker for portable shit and figured the other would make an easy Xmas gift.

>make awkward general name because don't want to spell out VAG
Faggot retard

you are actually right, this is going to be called VAG from now on

Snips seem interesting. They are running a bounty! And it's huge! danngg

How can I get into making my own assistant?

This is the state of Jow Forums in 2019-3m.

Kill yourselves.

>being this mad that people like things you don't

Build your own, lazy fuck:

People have told me that the Google home and Amazon echo are amazing, but they never give me good reasons other than playing music and setting random alarms, which I can do on my phone. What am I missing?

>Google

Use Google's cheap hardware ($5). Rewrite software using snowboy.

Google voice recognition sucks anyway.

Con: wiretapping your own house and paying for it

You can start by looking up an NLP library (Natural Language Processing) and start writing a 'command interpreter' to turn a text voice to text to the event that you then execute. Then pick a voice STT(speech to text) system to feed into the 'command interpreter'.

I recommend Python & spacy.io/ for NLP
and the google STT.

Can confirm, Snips is awesome.

>it is time for another personal voice controlled spy
what did he mean by this?

I don't understand why anyone would accept one of these devices in their house.

I don't understand why you think this is any different than carrying around any modern smartphone

So this shit is just so you can say:
>OK loli, set an alarm for 8:30 and play my trap porn Playlist
Or does it have better uses?

You need another use?

>no microphone jack
Yeah that's ok

accurate

>what do you use
Nothing.
>pros
No botnet.
Compatible with all OS's.
Costs 0$.
>cons
I can't ask Alexa to play Despacito.
>advice
Don't use a voice assistant, just live your life.

This. why would you use those fucking botnets?

>what do I use?
Nothing
>Pros
No botnet
Isn't a meme
Don't need to pay for a useless spying device
>cons
literally none
>advice
Don't buy into this meme

>using smartphones in 2018
