Dear thinkpad users

what laptop would you use if the thinkpad didn't exist?
what other laptops are also durable, lightweight, power-saving, and reliable?

lenovo gets no profit because we buy refurbished thinkpads from ebay
new thinkpads are crap

HP business laptop.

HP EliteBook

I second this.

I've had an elite book which was pretty solid unit got to heavy in the end. Out of the new machines no joke probably a Surface book, great looking hardware and looks like it will take a fair beating to.

Dell precision or

>Surface book
dgpu in a detachable keyboard base is fucking brilliant, I wish more companies would do this.

Dell something something business or used MS Surface

Latitude. My E6400 unironically has a better keyboard than my T500. Hell, even my old 32 bit Precision M90 has a better keyboard than my T500.

>new thinkpads are crap
Not true. The X1 carbon is solid if you can find it for a reasonable price.

>choosing an overpriced Intel model over based Ryzen 7 thinkpad

>Surface book
One of the most unreliable laptops you can buy. And impossible to repair.

Dell Latitude, HP Elitebook, Acer Travelmate

HP Compaq

All the good thinkpads are by IBM

Panasonic Toughbook.

2015 macbook pro 13 inch

if i really needed gaymen laptop, prob xps

Fujitsu makes the new IBM tier Thinkpad alternatives.

Anything over 300$ for a laptop is unreasonable

Elitebook or Latitude. They even have the clitmouse though in my experience they aren't quite as nice to use as the Thinkpad ones.

Mine just arrived in the mail today. So far pretty excited. Went with an x220 even though i was worried it would be a bit small but after its arrival im totally glad I didnt get a larger one. I also think it came with an IPS panel which I wasnt sure about based on the listing but had just planned to upgrade later.

i have that know too but mine isn't red so it doesn't look like a haemorrhoid

I use a Fujitsu Celsius H760 at work and it's a steaming pile of garbage. Luckily it's in the docking station most of the time so I don't have to deal with the absolute shit keyboard.

Probably Panasonic.

Probably either a Toughbook (or something along those lines) or a Librem laptop.

What on Earth is this

A Panasonic.

Anything with a decent trackpoint. If it doesn't have a trackpoint then it's shit, i don't want to carry a mouse everywhere.

>Anything with a decent trackpoint.
Pretty much this. I can live without one, but if I have the choice of having one, I'll take it.

What about Dell Inspiron?

I'd accept an Inspiron though it's not as well built as Latitude and doesn't have the clitmouse.
