I don't have an Internet connection for my home, even though I could have 1000/1000
if I need to connect my computer to the Internet, I browse tethered Wi-Fi via my phones 4G.
I have a max of 10 GB data per month.

Hooked it up to a cable card (video in for a computer) and copied vhs tapes to digital. A friend was retiring to the Phillipines and wanted his home video collection. I sold a laptop to a man who just got a cell phone last year, and loaded up some external drives with video from his vhs and 8mm tapes. I finished about a week ago and he leaves tomorrow from Nashville, I just haven't reconfigured workstation b yet because I started running a data recovery job a few minths ago off the same machine and now I don't want to turn it off.

If you had money you would have a descent computer with a descent card, or even an additional connector to match your old tv/whatever card.
