I still can't believe they replaced Unity with this half-functioning garbage.

I don't care what anybody says, Unity was one of the most coherent, usable, and stable DEs the Linux desktop has ever had. If you didn't like the workflow or were butthurt about GNOME 2, that's one thing, but it was a good DE to have as the "face" of the Linux desktop. It was recognizable, easy to use, justwerked, and had some interesting features to set it apart from the competitors. My only real complaint about it was the "dash" menu, which was just a clusterfuck.

Switching to GNOME 3, on the other hand, was such a fuckup. It feels like dumbed down pajeet shit rather than a professional product. I think the horrid memory leak issue only JUST got fixed, but GNOME is just going to stay fundamentally flawed until they rework it from the ground up with GNOME 4. If only Canonical didn't waste so much money on dumb side projects that already had other replacements in the works--I can guarantee you they've probably spent just as much money trying to fix GNOME and work around the constantly removed features as they would have maintaining Unity.
