W/T530 with the 1080p TN panel, install an XM processor/k2000m gpu and you get a cheap yet powerful workstation
X230 with IPS screen, compact and portable, does almost everything
Latest X1 Carbon with HDR panel, expensive but probably the best 'thinkpad' right now alongside the P52 for heavier loads

I have a W530 with the classic keyboard as my main workstation. Wide-gamut FHD panel, i7 3840QM, 20GB RAM, nVidia K2000M GPU. Should last for many years to come.
Is there an advantage to fitting a 2960XM over my 3840QM? Benchmarks seem to suggest that there's not much in it other than memory controllers.
