The fact that it happened on two separate devices leads to me thinking even more that it's your fault. No one else has had any problems, and so the fact that the only variable staying the same is YOU across two computers indicates YOU fucked up. Otherwise it most likely would've only been on one computer. The actual odds that windows fucked up on not one but two machines at the same time in the same house has got to be similar to the odds of two sperm donor kids marrying each other and having incest babies, which to be fair is actually quite high.
