The Big Hack: How China Used a Tiny Chip to Infiltrate U.S. Companies
The attack by Chinese spies reached almost 30 U.S. companies, including Amazon and Apple, by compromising America’s technology supply chain, according to extensive interviews with government and corporate sources.
With a title like that I'm surprised it's not an article about stallman.
Caleb Bell
>You WON'T believe how CHINA used THIS tiny to chip to INFILTRATE the TOP US COMPANIES.
Tyler Walker
I would suggest reading the article because it was a comfy read.
But basically worldwide. Idiot mods moved the thread which had valuable information so here you can read other replies
Anthony Cruz
>Whose bright idea was it to allow Communist Chinese to manufacture our shit in the first place? The ones that invented the term capitalism but instead of living in Russia they live in the US, basically for those that don't get it, Burger communist that play the capitalism game, term that they them self invented fucked up the old tradition from Europeans of ownership of ideas.
Asher Powell
So many buzzwords and nothing is actually explained about the piece. Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?
Andrew Clark
SuperMicro is a major server brand. Any hardware made in China needs to be looked at. It's bad.
Bentley Rivera
they first found small chips in OP's picture related
there were also next-gen "tiny chip" embedded between the motherboard layers in amazon china datacenter
basically, Trump was right about slapping tariffs (but Steve from GamersNexus will censor this news piece because he is fat fuck)
Carter Turner
>Elemental servers sold for as much as $100,000 each, at profit margins of as high as 70 percent, according to a former adviser to the company. >Two of Elemental’s biggest early clients were the Mormon church, which used the technology to beam sermons to congregations around the world, and the adult film industry, which did not. jej
This They're patching the masks, this is just misdirection Pro tip: you've got about 5 intelligence agencies worth of backdoors in your computer right now
Luke Hill
I want cheap RAM, what do i care that different components of my PC phone back to the PLA, Mossad, GRU and NSA. I'm not into intellectual property or super secrit government projects.
Noah Davis
Oh noes, the EBIL chineze spying MURRICA! UNACCEPTABLE!
But it's okay for murica to spy china and practically every other nation, even their allies. Because, you know >muh nashoonel sekooritee
You cannot trust a single thing from China, they're literally not human beings, they have no concept of morals or empathy. They produced dog food filled with poison. They produced baby formula filled with poison. They produced children's toys with poisonous compounds in the plastic, and painted with lead paint. They produce Android phones for domestic and international markets which come preloaded with state spyware. They produced network gear with backdoors the state could remotely exploit to disable internet infrastructure at will.
It doesn't matter what it is, the Chinese can't be trusted. They're still making gutter oil and selling plastic fake rice to people too. They aren't human.
Noah Garcia
only a retard would trust a china man on anything
Nathaniel Murphy
Kike mod BTFO. American manufacturing is back baby.
Justin Sullivan
>American manufacturing is back baby. kek, wishful thinking.
Eli Diaz
good. OP is retarded thinking that no one knew about botnet. botnet is common knowledge here, educate other boards with it, there's nothing new for Jow Forums here.
Ayden Hill
>implying american jews wouldn't do the same as chinese jews if they could get away with it
James Ortiz
yeah but usa are the good guys, so it's ok if they spy on others to keep everyone safe. china is literally trying to take over the world and force everyone to submit to their dictatorsh- i mean 'communism'.
who would you rather give your details to: the police or some mafia boss?
Gabriel Rodriguez
>moving thread to Jow Forums is censoring sort yourself out
Evan Martin
>but usa are the good guys You have to be 18 or older to browse in this website.
James Morales
>Implying I don't condone ovening kikery of all varieties
Carson Anderson
>usa are the good guys
Robert Miller
>who would you rather give your details to: the police or some mafia boss? The mafia boss, he's far away, the police is close by and has a history of extortion.
Honestly fuck those US companies, they are truly retarded if they weren't expecting this.
Nicholas Young
kek saved
i am amazed such a small piece of shit can do anything at all desu
Anthony Powell
Of course they were expecting this, and knew about it completely. Hilarious how badly the average public underestimates people at the top. It just so happens that now is the *right* time to publish this for their own self-interests.
Juan Russell
Holy shit I feel like I'm witnessing something technologically cuhrazy on Jow Forums again.
Like those back in the day days when bitcoins were a joke and Assange was a hero and shit.
do you like your chink botnet? how does it feel to finally see botnet for the first time? faggots like you probably were defending intel's and triple letter agency's botnet, because "nothing to hide, nothing to fear, lol", now that this happens to burgers "wtf, I hate botnet now!"
Jaxson Richardson
>you only have to fear the police if you've done something wrong. the mafia boss is always a threat. Millioninnocentsshotbypolice.jpg
Thomas Stewart
FUCK
Jace Sanchez
You have to be very stupid or naive to think that US is a "good guy". There is no such thing as good vs. evil in politics, only conflicts of interests.
Ethan Myers
>but usa are the good guy kek >china is literally trying to take over the world so like the US?
Elijah Collins
>Whose bright idea was it to allow Communist Chinese to manufacture our shit in the first place? Who indeed.
So is it actually a thing or is it yet another case of "l-look at all t-these russian bots!" propaganda pushed by leftist shills?
Grayson Gonzalez
It's motherboards that are affected, did you even read the article?
Elijah Lopez
>Democracy If you mean puppet regimes and international Jewish banks, then yes. The US is trying to spread that.
Supermicro is a big producer of enterprise motherboards for AMD and intel alike. This is a big hit to the entire industry. This could lead to a shortage, datacenters having to throw out hardware.
Blake Phillips
It's probably an article cooked by Trump to give moral support to the sanctions against China.
Aaron Gomez
China #1!
Adam Bailey
honestly, if it isn't true, china are absolute saints (or complete idiots) for not doing it.
Benjamin Williams
Trading with China was conditional and reevaluated on a yearly basis after the Korean War ended until Bill Clinton came along. The Clintons are Chinese puppets.
Henry Clark
>usa is only trying to spread democracy and freedom to less fortunate countries US doesn't believe in freedom, you are very insecure about other nations. The only reason you don't start a war with either of Russia and China is because you know you will get your ass handed to them. Even if you "win" you will get destroyed. Whereas with other countries that are weak you threaten "FIre and Fury" just because they got nukes for themselves.
>US doesn't believe in freedom it's literally called land of the free, freedom is the number one priority of the usa.
William Collins
>Bloomberg says apple/amazon/whoever else found spying chips on their Supermicro motherboards >Apple/amazon say they didn't >Supermicro says they might have mixed up their already shitty sources and stories >>We are deeply disappointed that in their dealings with us, Bloomberg's reporters have not been open to the possibility that they or their sources might be wrong or misinformed. Our best guess is that they are confusing their story with a previously reported 2016 incident in which we discovered an infected driver on a single Super Micro server in one of our labs. That one-time event was determined to be accidental and not a targeted attack against Apple. >No proof of anything provided Looks like another shitty ctslabs type hitjob/muh evul China story Except that it worked this time
Noah James
>It's another "European can't stop thinking about America" episode
Juan Ross
It's almost comedy at this point.
Michael Wright
it was hitpiece by Intel because Supermicro were starting to ramp up production of AMD Epyc motherboards
Brayden Gutierrez
Trump was right once again
Lucas Walker
No, that's the MKULTRA emitter. Have you accepted Mao Zedong as your spiritual liege?
Isaiah Nguyen
Most american companies already had factories in China when Clinton came to power. It's a trend that started when Nixon recognized the commie chinese government and made trade agreements with them.
Dominic Collins
Kek
Jayden Powell
That's depressing.
Jace Carter
>""people"" itt trying to shift the discussion from 'china literally getting caught actually putting illegal hardware backdoors into american products for spying purposes' to 'america might have done bad thing at some point maybe conspiracy theories' hmmmm
The difference this time being that there was no stock video footage and the article was much better written. Of course, the chance is low that the FBI would outright burn their sources with real information here... though there is also doubt there due to their bungling of the Russian probe. Too much vague information from companies and people trying to cover their asses. If this is true, imagine the damage to other big tech as larger than just collateral.
It should be easy enough to acquire compromised hardware if the issue is really based in reality.
Leo Flores
Remember the American nuclear reactor sabotage against EU? Whose bright idea was it to allow Capitalist Americans to manufacture European shit in the first place?
Adrian Allen
Well never really get a clear answer from those companies, not unless they want to commit market suicide.
Hudson Murphy
>at some point At all times, more like.
Grayson Clark
LOL
Caleb Ortiz
Hardware was still made in the US in the 80's and early 90's. Things went to shit after Clinton made the trade agreement unconditional. They didn't change any at all. We did. How could any 1st world country compete when they still have child labor and sweatshops?
