CPU
>R3 2200G - Bare minimum gaming(dGPU optional)
>R5 2400G/i5-8400 - Consider IF on sale
>R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs
>Wait for 9700k - Almost surely best for 1080p gaming
>R7 2700/X - Best high-end gaming/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform
>Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT

RAM
>8GB - Enough for most gaming use
>16GB - Standard for heavy use
>32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal

Graphics cards
>RTX 2000 cards are worse performance per $ than current GPUs. Just a marketing gimmick to rip off idiots
>Avoid cheap MODELS ie MSI Armor (Mk2 is ok), Gigabyte G1/Wf, ASUS dual, and others which have small heatsinks and low quality fans
1080p

Storage
>Backup before using StoreMi
>Consider getting a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & large HDD
>2TB HDDs are barely more $ than 1TB
>M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard

Wizardry 8 is definitely my favorite blobber of all time. I really wish Sirtech didn't go bankrupt.

Anyone knows when the z390 cards will be available?

>Built my first proper PC yesterday after years of being stuck with low-end laptops.
>pcpartpicker.com/list/dQJP9J
That's pretty low end. Can't imagine what you had in the past. But still decent.
Also a GTX 950 isn't even 50% above the iGPU over the 2200G OC.

Boards*

Turns out thiswas incorrect and the fuckers falsely advertized CL15 when in actuallity the timings are 16 based on the product code. Pic related.
so it's 150 euros for 3200MHz and CL16

Is NZXT any good?
Was thinking about using nzxt.com/products/h200i-matte-white for a mini ITX build.

So if i want a ryzen mATX mobo what would be the best I could get without breaking my wallet aka $200 or less.

I have the same kit and it works at cl15

H series is great. Get a blower card and watercool your cpu

Yeah I am sure you can put more volts in and make it run better, but the guys who make ram themselves say the timings are 16-18-18-38 thats a far cry from what I though I was going to get, which is pic related. Which actually rated at CL15

Attached: Bbbb.jpg (531x140, 18K)

16-18-18 is pretty shit.
That's A LOT slow than B-die.

Ya and a 3200 CL14 kit will work at 3466 CL 14-14-14 or even better. That's a lot better than 3200 CL 15-17-17.

State your ram stock speed and timings.
State how far you got to OC'ing it.

Msi 1070ti armor is on special right now for $519. I knoe the supposedly have a shit cooler but thats honestly really cheap. This is coming from a 1060 6gb though so idk. The card afaik is conpatible with gaming x waterblocks so thats also an option. Anyone care to weight in? I was honestly wanting to go 2080ti but i never thought it would be more than $1.5k

Is upgrading to an SSD worth it on an old PC? I use a lot of programs and want them to open up quick, but I was wondering if my slow CPU and RAM are going to bottleneck it (sorry if a stupid question).

Attached: Capture.jpg (643x574, 103K)

I'm considering buying this kit (16gb CL16 3200mhz) for around 140€. I'll use it with my current r3 2200g and will likely upgrade to a 2600. Will this combo do fine for 75hz 1440p gaming?

Attached: Ram.jpg (500x500, 30K)

fucking hell

Attached: cccc.jpg (1120x365, 137K)

My 1600 is enough for 75hz so yeah

With what gpu?

//

Why is this so cute?

>Will this combo do fine for 75hz 1440p gaming?
this level of retardation. I really hate you NPC scum. but then again you getting kiked out of money by marketing departments and tech youtubers means there's money being spent on tech rnd.

Fuck my ram is 15-17-17-35 on my Ryzen. how bad did I fuck up?

BUY A FUCKING GRAPHICS CARD

Should I buy a 2700 now or wait for the release of the new Intel CPUs?
I want to buy it cheap but Intel's prices are so laughable, AMD might not even lower their prices

My current CPU (2200g) was sometimes dropping under 75fps fps with a 1050 ti @ 1080p with 8gb ram so I'm guessing that a 2600 + 16gb of cheap 3200mhz ram should perform adequately.
GTX 1070. Won't be playing on ultra. Still have to buy a 1440p monitor.

>1050 ti
I really doubt your cpu was at fault

>are you really disappointed in me asking a PC hardware related question on a thread specifically created about disgusting such questions?
see

Attached: 1534714257725.jpg (559x598, 71K)

He I plan on building a similar build with 2200g and 1050ti. With plans to upgrade in the future.
How is gaming with that build?

retard phoneposter

Attached: 1479077339436.png (1011x1088, 535K)

Yes with a 1070 you can reach 60-75fps with high-max settings on 1440p.
Don't hope too much with games like Arma or other shitty games.
Would've shared pictures but the format isn't supported.
tomshardware.fr/articles/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-pascal-performance,2-2493-3.html

Right so
>2600 for 170 euros
>MSI B450 Tomahawk for 106 euros
>[Ripjaws V] F4-3200C14D-16GVR DDR4-3200 (PC4-25600) 16GB (8GBx2) CL14-14-14-34 1.35 Volt for 225 euros
is this build retarded? Feels wrong to spend so fucking much on RAM that getting close to the CPU+motherboard price.
Does is the B-die worth the 75 euro price increase over this shit. Or is it better spent elsewhere?

Attached: 230.jpg (511x136, 18K)

no U
It's pretty fine. I enjoyed playing some relatively new AAA games as well as some 7th gen console ports at reasonable framerates.
I'm not aiming for max settings.

You'll be able to enjoy it on many games though.
If you can live without and wanna save a few bucks go with a 1060.

what are you using the pc for?

About to upgrade my 2GB R9 270 to a 4GB RX 560 to play Witcher 2, am I in for a treat lads? Almost done with the first one.

only gaming, aiming for 120hrz gaming, 1-3% productivity.

at what resolution?

i envy anyone who gets to play the witcher series for the first time. imo 2 is better than 3 but im in the extremely small minority with that

Go for a 570 if you wanna be supercomfy with the next one.

1080p
I will upgrade my video card from good to best, soon enough as well.

720p

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor.
Are all screens still fucking garbare?
Are there screens where color black does not look like dark fucking gray when you look at them in the dark?

Attached: 1493839184657.jpg (640x778, 44K)

TN screens tend to have that effect. IPS screens tear like crazy but have deep blacks.

What is the Thinkpad of the PC world?

I mean something that just werks and I can do office tier shit on it

maybe play some 1990-2004 games on it

thanks

IPS do not have deep blacks lmao. They have backlight bleed and granted, way better viewing angles and colours

VA has decent blacks
OLED obv best

Attached: pleasee-pleasee-s-please-respond-4517907-1.png (500x498, 386K)

>Are all screens still fucking garbare?
Yes, every panel type have his problems.

if you really care about deep blacks then a va panel is the best choice

>oled
while technically correct, theyre a meme at this point

How are they a meme?

Their picture quality is head and shoulders above the rest on TVs

>tv
he wants a monitor and they still have burn-in problem which isnt much of a problem on tvs and is solved on phones with the slight pixel shift they perform
oled monitors are a pipe dream until they can fix the burn in problem as well as their blue led problems
also price and availability

Two fan OC or single fan ITX?

2400G with 8 gigs of RAM should do that just fine

Lads, I found a 1080 ti from MSI for 790 euromonies should I get it or should I get a 2080 instead?

Woah slow down there, I’ve got to save something for Witcher 3.

Why go with a small form factor if you are not limited by space my nigga?

Yes it is for Witcher 3. You'll get over 60 fps average and around 56 with dips 1080p max settings.

I think both witcher 2 and 3 are extremely overrated and mediocre I give those games 5/10.

>For only gaming at high refresh (120Hrz) at 1080p
please respond to this

adaptive sync or no?

how is that relevant?

For 1080 gaming

And some video editing

Was the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC a wise purchase? Thought I'd finally move away from the typical 1060 3gb i have.

>upgrades from 1060 to 1060
>did i waste my money?
retard

thanks for the feedback cuz.

I'm limited by TDP, 150 is a bit too much.
And ain't got 8 pin power line.

not a wise purchase if you bought a gtx 1060 already

Can you guys suggest some upgrades for my pc, I don't know fuck all about building computers a friend of mine built this pc for me about 4 years ago.

used for gaming at 1080, would like to invest in a 144hz monitor eventually. I don't really want to spend more than 300 canadian upgrading the PC though, if thats not enough I'll just suck it up for awhile.

Attached: specs.png (658x530, 36K)

just answer the question and we can continue spoonfeeding you

Nah it came with stock.

Your CPU will bottleneck a better GPU in a lot of games. It's currently fairly balanced and needs a more complete replacement.

If you really don't want to spend much... try overclocking your RAM to get 9-9-9-24 or so timings. That'll at least help a bit.
RX570 or used RX470/480 maybe. 300 CAD doesnt' get you very far. Your CPU will often bottleneck those cards, but nothing else you can do with your budget. Just upgrade CPU later.

1060>1060

What the heck user?

Noice. Well by the time I get there 7 nm will probably be on sale lol

The mobo should click/snap into the backplate, right?
Watched a video and it looked like the guy had to exert a lot of force to get it in but maybe I was imagining things.

no

2nd hand 4770/4790 and mobo you may find for £300

All I can think of.

Attached: lewd_orange.png (507x600, 312K)

bls respond

Thanks user, just curious how much would a new cpu cost me, and how much would it improve the build by itself?

>State the budget & CURRENCY for your build
Negotiable, JPY
>List your uses; eg Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
Virtual Reality (Oculus Rift + probably eventually second gen (4k x 2))
>For monitors, include purpose and graphics card pairing.
Oculus Rift and 4k monitor

I'm thinking about finally upgrading from my ancient CPU (i5 2500k) because it can't handle the SC requirements of certain horribly optimized SC performance dependent games.

I was originally considering waiting for Ryzen 3000 series (R7 3700X(?)) early next year since it'll be 7nm and I've read about potential ~20% IPC boost from ZEN+. But then I've read some posts saying 7nm foundries are gonna be taken by mobile SoC until probably Q3...

My CPU is tolerable for now, but my motherboard is half dead desu...maybe just upgrade the Mobo, RAM, and use an interim R3 or something? I know Intel has superior SC performance, but it's such a terrible value proposition overall compared to Ryzen I don't think I want to even consider it for now.

Also, I've read that RAM prices will be coming down between now and early next year due to lower anticipated demand due to a variety of factors. (Intel supply issues or something) So upgrading early next year would've been great, I guess I could just buy the RAM first and hold on to it until ZEN2?

Is there anything I'm missing? I haven't looked into PC hardware in ages. I'm just going to recycle my current GPU (RX 480 8GB), PSU (600W), case, SSD, etc...so it's really just CPU, RAM, and Mobo that I care about.

Why do you have to be such a faggot, user?

At least have that fag.

Attached: getgraphimg.png (600x2106, 277K)

pls respond
I've been thinking about this for like 2 weeks now and I just can't decide

It's not even a good deal

New CPU means new RAM.
2600 = $165
b450m bazooka = $75
2800MHz @ 1.2v DDR4 RAM = $70
That's in USD. In leafbux it's more than your entire $300 CAD budget.

Falcon NW is located in my area and I have never visited their store.

Love how nvidiots are such cucks that they need other people's moral support to talk them up into making shitty, terrible value purchases. Ones that, worst of all, lock them into shitty monitor choices. Every single thread.
Just do it. You enjoy being cucked.

Love how pajeets are such shills they talk people up into making shitty, terrible value purchases. Ones that, worst of all, lock them into inferior vega gpus. Every single thread.
Just do it. You enjoy being proven wrong.

Overkill mobo, retarded SSD. No, not good.

Nigga I had both nvidia and amd cards and I don't fucking give a damn about muh monitors you retarded autist.
>inb4 this is a copypasta

>blew all my pc money on alcohol last night
fuck this I shouldn't have gone out

It's because retards over here buy ips panels so they all get shit tearing and ghosting so they absolutely need gsync or freesync.

Who the fuck recommends vega? Remove that shit

Vega 56 has good value.

Me love Nvidia but isn't 56 better than a 1070 and costs about the same?

t. 1080ti owner

No one is retarded enough to buy vega. I'm surprised it's still even in the OP all these months later considering how it's getting worse and worse over time instead of better. Vega owners still haven't even got their promised features which were announced before launch. What an epic flop of a GPU

>good value
>1080 ti's going for a hundred quid more
>1070s going for £300

Yeah maybe if you think good value is £400

>R7 2700/X - Best high-end gaming

LOL

Attached: 1538419587419.png (500x970, 49K)

i still don't get this, how is this possible to have an OC and get worst perfomance?

Good 1080 ~700€
Good 1080ti ~900€
Good 1070(ti) ~500€

Where do you get your prices and how come they aren't trying to rip you off by not updating prices.
Something comes after that.
Also:
2700X: 320€
8700K: 530€

>Best high-end gaming/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform
>/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform
l2read retard. Even then it's 3% difference. Then there's the price difference between it and 8700k
