so question here - after the update i now have a windows process called windows internal.composable shell.experiences.textinput.input app.exe running my gpu up while i'm idle on the desktop. killing something called microsoft text input on my task manager makes it go away but it keeps coming back after a time. looking it up on google says it is part of the touchscreen keyboard which i don't use. can i disable this shit so my gpu doesn't cook while it's not running anything major?

last time I tried this I fucked it up because I was using LTSB, which wasn't compatible at all. Well, when I logged into windows it just displayed a gray screen, restoring the original theme fixed it but I had to use a Live lubuntu.

I am considering upgrading to Win10 from 7, probably the education edition. I have some questions for you Win10 users.
1) How easy is to do manual updates, disable antivirus, prefetch and tame the botnet on 10 nowadays? I hate to have to mess with the register.
2) How good is the Linux compatibility layer these days? Is it close to plain Linux for compiling and running things?
