ABSOULTE STATE OF PIXEL

Attached: pixel3xl2.jpg (960x720, 35K)

"lets make a cheap phone"

Google ripping off Xiaomi now?

How do you even make something much worse than what Xiaomeme did with such a higher budget

I miss the Nexus days when Google had a decent idea of what they wanted with form and design.

Now they're nothing more than riding the coat tails of LG, Essential and Apple with the "notch".

Samsung had the good sense not to follow this trend and played it safe with the S9. They knew that being accused of copying Apple would play badly with both the media and customer base.

They also have the S0 in the wings with a flexible display which is the design branch they want to go down.

Google's new flagship looks out of date and behind the times.

Galaxy SX will have a notch.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo

Attached: 1538776271244.jpg (438x354, 16K)

that's a big phone

It's almost a thousand dollars.

yes but for google to manufacture, it's probably cheap.
I used to love the nexus phones, then pixel came and ruined everything

AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

>I used to love the nexus phones, then pixel came and ruined everything

Like what, the price?

>massive notch
>massive chin
>massive bezels
>apple prices
JUST

I remember hearing a rumour that they're basically shoveling this shit out and betting on the next pixel which will be developed by the HTC team they acquired. Everyone that worked on this phone is probably getting canned.

>meanwhile in china

The price, design, stock android, top specs.
They weren't perfect, the build materials were pretty fragile and they killed the microsd way too early, but they were very good phones

What, like active edge, the best camera on any phone?

>pretty fragile
Dude the Nexus 5x literally auto bricked itself, none of the lasted much longer than a year. None of the Pixels had that problem. I honestly can't think of any design aspects that were worse, objectively.

well if you own the fab.....

I'm still on my original 5x, I've had it for almost 3 years though. Never bricked itself.

NOTCHED

>notepads had the notch first
Applel BTFO forever and ever.

Same here, though I dropped it and completely fucked the main camera

>notch
Why are they still contributing to this meme?

>Dude the Nexus 5x literally auto bricked itself, none of the lasted much longer than a year. None of the Pixels had that problem. I honestly can't think of any design aspects that were worse, objectively.
What about the 6P?
youtube.com/watch?v=tTIaUH6PIvo

OHNONONONONONOOOOOO
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH

the worst of both worlds. a fucking chin AND a notch.

wtf google...

It won't you autist

newsflash, nobody outside of autists on the internet cares about the notch.

>XL

the non phablet pixel looks fine

Attached: Google-Pixel-3-Google-Pixel-3-XL.jpg (1400x1000, 110K)

>mega chin
lmao

meanwhile s8/s9 has it the way it's supposed to be, everyone else is a fucking hack

I hope they won't fuck up with s10 since I wanted to upgrade to that.

>buying a 700$ google spy phone

You people are sheep.

The Pixel phones are actually the best for running a de-Googlefied Android.

Do you have any information on that?

would be fine if it had capacitive buttons where the chin is

W-whatever, I don't even want ur money >_

Attached: B-Baka Pixel3.png (167x127, 16K)

i work in a repair shop and i've probably seen 70-100 bricked 5X's

Attached: 1439245185679.jpg (1280x720, 248K)

>tfw need a new phone
which phone do i get Jow Forums?

>iphone xs
>OP6T
>S9+
>pixel 3 xl
>pixel 2 xl

which country?

There is always the newest AOSP that works with all the Pixel hardware.
Easiest to make ROMs based on that.
Samsung makes better phones, but it can take many months before a new Android version is ported to them.

If you need to ask in such an unspecific manner, you're too dumb for anything but an iPhone.

irrelevant, but england

cutest notch so far

Get a cheap china phone with a good battery.

can I just buy a phone that doesn't have a selfie camera because why would I want that

>the only phone with a not terrible looking frontside is the one with terrible korean software

it's an unjust world

do u guys repair blacklisted imei?

How can a designer do this at a company like Google and not get fired?
I wonder if Google does something even more retarded, like a bottom notch, other manufacturers will follow.

No.

t. NSA

Xiaomi Max 2 is the only correct answer

>No headphone jack
>Notch
Guess I'm getting an LG or a Samsung for my next personal phone.

LG has a notch, so I guess you'll have to use Samsung unless they also add a notch.

And only two years ago, LG had removable batteries.

Attached: notch.jpg (279x181, 5K)

LG V35 has a notch?

V40 has one.

I'm avoiding the L40 like a plague because of that.

pixels were never good. good google ended with the nexus line

Sorry, meant to type V40, my fingers were ahead of my brain.

samsung makes their own displays and with the trend of everyone moving to notches, they will be the only OEM to never have a notch. will make it very obvious in a few years as to who has a samsung phone. that's pretty much the reason why they have that dumb curved side edges gimmick

Oof. This hit too close to home.

+1

I returned a Pixel 2 XL for a Moto Z2 Force. At least Lenovo knows how to make a phone. Google is a software company which has "hardware" with QC that makes HP look like they have the greatest hardware ever.

Why does it look like the screen is floating?

have one more

Attached: images21.jpg (155x183, 4K)

the new moto z might have last year's specs but i do love the aesthetics (looks like first gen moto x) and moto mods are nice too.

shame about google really. it's even worse that so many people shill pixels even with how shit they are.

Mi 8
Be warned though
Notxh,no headphone jack and no SD
But good price

i just want a phone with a good battery life and an aesthetic design tbqh

i don't play vidya, i don't use many apps. and my current phone loses battery while watching 30 minutes of video

>china phone
i do want a phone with a good battery. but have heard china phones have skins on them that make the phone slower?

plus there's the safety with chinese phones (data collection)

don't want a large phone, 6.5'' screen would be my max

>have heard china phones have skins on them that make the phone slower?
>
>plus there's the safety with chinese phones (data collection)

Just install a custom ROM then.

S8 user here, i bought my s8 because this notch thing looks so stupid and the screens on them are worse enough not to warrant a gucking notch

any other catch with this phone?

Mi 8 pro looks to be released too, but don't see it on xiaomi's website

realistically, how worried should i be about China's data collection?

>Just install a custom ROM then.
h-how do i know the ROM is safe?

Attached: Xiaomi-Mi-8-Pro-3[1].jpg (1628x1080, 370K)

>h-how do i know the ROM is safe?
How do you know any ROM is safe? Your best bet is to download a popular open source one.
lineageos.org/

but which company is manufacturing this? does google now have a hardware division? didn't they sell Motorola?

"let's make a cheap phone and sell it for a thousand dollars"

to be honest I'd never buy a phone with one

but I feel like I'm starting to run out of options because I want physical button and headphone jack too (16:9 screen ratio would be a desirable bonus)

need to replace my s6 edge at some point but latest smartphones keep disappointing me

>Notxh,no headphone jack and no SD
if I wanted shitty phone with no features I would have bough an actual iphone

POOdroids BTFO

Attached: poodroid.jpg (2069x833, 408K)

>Looks worse than chink phones

Why do they even make phones at this point, I doubt they even make profits

>I doubt they even make profits
considering they price their Google Homes at like $50, they just hook people onto their botnet ecosystem at the lowest initial entry cost.

I personally recommend S9+ as it's apparently the last flagman out there isn't trying to copy Apple shit.
However, I personally don't care about the curved edges meme but some people do.

and nobody outside of autists who work for pop tech news cares about bezels

A bottom notch would actually not be that big of a deal, and make much more sense than a top notch.

The lower left and right space next to the notch could have software buttons and if you want to go with sliding gestures to go home like the iPhone X, you would always see where to slide up from the notch.

uuuu

why do the smartphones that go the notch route don't at least also remove/shrink down the bottom chin? isn't that kind of the point?

>curved edges meme
desu this actually stopped me buying a high end or midrange samsung and the lack of basic sensors in the low end samsungs finally pushed me out of their ecosystem and into a cheap as fuck nokia 1 and aside from some software niggles due to android GO I love it, reminds me a lot of 2012 era devices

did you really ever think THIS is what you would argue about 10 yeas ago

Other than design faggotry, what's the issue?

>a company like Google
an advertisement company?

topzozzle
