i got a msi laptop around the same spec range and the only thing shitting it up is the general hardware quality of even housing all this stuff. I doubt HP has improved their shit in the past 8 years

it's ok i have been using it for year:
good:
>cooling
>performance
>matte display
>nice backlight
>touchpad
>sound
>usb-c thunderbolt
bad:
>build quality
>the screen is shitty
>you can't set fans in windows/linux
>acpi on linux is mess
>3 hours battery
But in the end i am happy, i switched from elitebook 2570p and i used x220.Exept shitty battery i love just the 4 normal cores, graphic card and usb-c dongle for 3 displays.

I briefly owned the 17" version of this laptop, but the fucker was LOUD. Like, doing nothing remotely demanding and still loud. I can't deal with that, had to return it.
Liked it otherwise, cool laptop in the way of style and design

If you haven't ordered yet instead order the acer predator helios 300.
Same specs but it has an IPS 144hz screen with great gamut and 315 nits of brightness. The screen in yours is 250 nits, 60hz and with like 62% srgb.
