>What is XMPP? Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) is a communication protocol for message-oriented middleware. Unlike most instant messaging protocols, XMPP is defined in an open standard and uses an open systems approach of development and application, by which anyone may implement an XMPP service and interoperate with other organizations' implementations. Because XMPP is an open protocol, implementations can be developed using any software license and many server, client, and library implementations are distributed as free and open-source software.

Can I xmpp to build a trendy app and lure normies and NPCs? I want to get rich by selling their data to some Jew marketer.

Pretty sure OMEMO is more secure than Matrix.

>Can I xmpp to build a trendy app and lure normies and NPCs? That's basically what every messaging startup does.
Blake Jackson
>non-secure
Proof? The only issue is it's currently impossible to be anonymous with it - but that has nothing to do with it's security. The protocol is sound. Wire is another implementation of it which allows sign-up via email so it is possible to use that anonymously I suppose.
>b-but Moxie is a faggot Yes he's a dickhead but that doesn't change the fact that the protocol itself is secure.
Brody Richardson
kek is poopoo peepee man

>Pretty sure OMEMO is more secure than Matrix. yeah matrix hasn't even been audited
Ayden Gonzalez
maybe if the muc wasnt filled with racism and hate
Protocol is sound now, but for a long time you couldn't escape GApps dependency. The history there is enough for me to not trust it. If it was before a certain point, there's no telling how much that affects people who signed up before. And the fact that you have to use your phone number is just an obvious non-starter.

>but for a long time you couldn't escape GApps dependency You're full of shit if that's your honest opinion.

Can I host my own XMPP server and then use that for Conversations?
