I dare you to make one argument that favors Windows over Linux that doesn't depend on Windows' monopoly over desktop.
That means you can't use the following: >muh drivers monopoly (not an issue anymore btw) >muh software monopoly (lmao, wine is just as good and sometimes even better anyway) >muh gaymes monopoly (one word: proton) >muh user-friendliness monopoly (this argument is bullshit anyway, i can assure you that linux >> windows when it comes to ease of use, you're just used to windows) >inb4 support lol, this one is just a blatant lie but i guess this will be the only argument you winfags will think of so im going to answer it anyway. linux has far better online community support than windows (no, pajeets telling you to restart your pc doesnt count) and if you want professional support you can get it from suse, red hat, etc.
Admit it, Windows falls short when it comes to things that really matter like reliability, security, speed, privacy and customizability. I've never heard a winfag listing any of those as Windows' advantage. The only thing that's saving Windows is its iron grip of the market and you won't be able to prove otherwise.

muh east asian language support is awful both on Mint and ubuntu, can't be arsed to try others. Wine is utter shit with non latin languages, garbled text and shit not launching outright. Even MacOS has shit ton better support than linux.

>i can assure you that linux >> windows when it comes to ease of use, you're just used to windows Yeah, I suppose this does become true after you put the amount of effort tech illiterates just don't have into understanding how the system works.
The crux of the matter is that when you reach this point you don't actually want or need easiness of use, do you?
Benjamin Hernandez
>linux looks like shit How do you see the kernel?
Henry Edwards
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

unified behavior across the world, the only fragmentation is based on the different versions of the operating system, every five years or so they come with a new Ui or improvement. On the linux world you have Gnome, KDE, Unity, Xllfcfasgtwv2, i3, i3-gaps, meme123 but it dosent stop there, every year distros get a major update meaning every thing changes a bit meaning a grandpa not updating his distro for 3 years wont find the trash can on the latest ubuntu update.
Jamal from the US his granted a short vacations (restricted to 100km prison) goes to a computer and orders two tickets to Spain, he arrives in his destination country and now needs to find Antonio, goes to an internet cafe, knows exactly how the computer works and finds his tortilla con chorizo friend.
Charls from forchin uses bspwm, rando girl from a rando university ask him complete an algebraic work by using WIndows Word in exchange of sex and she lets him cum in his mouth, Charls declines pretending that sex is to cheap and he wouldn't ever do something like that but in reality he has no idea how to write formulas on Windox because he always used LaTex and google everything from the terminal.

As a 100% GNU/Linux user, these threads are fucking retarded. Windows is better than GNU/Linux in every aspect for the average consumer.
GNU/Linux is made for developers by developers. Stop trying to make it your personal Jow Forums machine with copy paste dot files from plebbit and thinking you are superior to Windows users.

what the fuck are you even talking about? I can make up specific examples too, watch. >thad using debian+i3 meets cute girl >she sees that she’s not using windows or mac, and proceeds to strike up a conversion with thad >they hit it off, and thad cums in her asshole

I believe in open development, and that very much involves not just making the source open, but also not shutting other people and companies out. I don't want to be associated with the people for whom it's about exclusion and hatred. >Linus

The problem is that it has an undue reputation of being difficult to install, so not only does it attract people who think they know what they're doing, but it emboldens them once they successfully install it. They don't realise that Arch uses a text based installer because that is simpler and easier to use.

So far, that monitoring works real well. Despite Linux being a top choice for servers and mobile phones Windows still manages to have the most problems. Enjoy having all of your files deleted wincucks. Enjoy your ransomware. Enjoy. :^)
My native language is well supported by both windows and linux, and it drives me crazy that people actually use it instead of english, it's just unsuable... also, try googling error messages in language other than english.

Just like windows and mac, and every other os.
The difference is that with windows you'll get bluescreen with meaningless error code, and searching that error message in ms documentation gives you a meaningless description.
After rebooting in 7 of 10 cases you have no log about what actually happened nor you know where to search most of the time.
And no, windows doesnt work always, if ti works for you then great, you've found yourself the tool that works for you. But I just had always terrible experience with windows or just the entire enviroment that grew around this broken platform.

In this case, you'd be working for your own personal benefit. The fact that others benefit too is just a side effect. Right now, all you're doing is expecting others to work for free so your moon runes don't fuck up. Don't be a lazy faggot.
current thought: if people decide to sue in a class action lawsuit and there will be value assigned to lost data, we might see a giant lawsuit fucking killing windows
