damn happy with the poco meme, have had for a month

low light pics suck a dick tho

install the recommended GCam port for it, night and day difference friendo

How can Google fuck up the Pixel line every time?
3 generations of some ugly ass phone.

Diversity hires

So how does anti-rollback work for mi devices? Does it only restrict downgrades to a lower miui version, or will I trigger it if I install a custom rom (gsi) that isn't recent enough?

pixel 2 xl is amazing

Dual front camera, yet single rear camera.
Strange.

Did they fix the notch display bug

have the rn5 with miui 10, it's pretty good

Best phone for 500$-700$.
Need for my dad.
Normal use of phone.
Internal memory should be 128 GB min.

You can't fix a notch in software, user

Is there a bigger sign of being a cuck company, than having a notch on your phone, especially with a massive bottom chin? Like you can clearly see the pathetic attempt at copying apple.

Thoughts on the Motorola Z3?Thinking about getting one for $240.

What did they mean by this?

twitter.com/madebygoogle/status/1049335342598434817

Essential Phone

what we've been saying for weeks, no one had got it right in the leaks

The hueg chin isn't even a problem because they use the space for speaker but apple notched their phone to get rid of the chin. The question is why Google has to notched the XL instead of using the regular top bezel?

iPhone

which Z3? is it through VZW or unlocked?

Thanks to a few kind anons and their suggestions, I've trimmed down my options to:

>Asus ZenFone 5Z - $500 (Has Asus been in the phone game for a while? I like their laptops, and I use a monitor of theirs. Is $500 for a phone worth it when compared to the below options?)

>Essential - $340 (apparently the company is up for sale? Should this play into purchasing this phone?)

>LG G6 - $299

>Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 - $350 (Are they a reliable, reputable company?)

Attached: thinking hmm.jpg (220x249, 13K)

Asus has been in the phone game for at least 5 years now, and yes it is worth it because it has the newest SD 8XX SoC, good camera setup, mSD support, good IPS screen, stereo speakers and headphone jack w/ USB-C
Essential is a good alternative if you dont mind no MSD support or headphone jack, lots of developer support and already on Android P
LG G6 is a great choice as well because good cameras made better by GCam port, also decent developer support depending on model and USB-C and headphone jack
Mi Mix 2 has global bands and good developer support but no headphone jack or mSD support, and yes they are reputable

Best phone for £250 ish ($330)? im thinking nokia 7+ but i dunno much about the smartphone market

Attached: 7+.png (520x800, 109K)

marketing hype i bet

>the emoji they used at the end is the notch emoticon
what an embarrassment

>$500 for Zenfone 5Z
oof, official Asus here sell them for around $408

twitter.com/MKBHD/status/1049344892760150017?s=20

this guy is paid by Google, but I am now getting hyped

Pocophone

7 Plus is really nice desu. I hope they get official bootloader unlock someday.

My pixel xl contract ends in a couple days, im either going to get a sim only deal until one of the foldable memes comes out or I'll upgrade if i can find a phone with specs similar to these

>Storage 512gb
>Micro SD slot 1-2
>Big battery, like 4000-5000mah
>No notch
>Headphone jack
>1080-1440 screen
>A camera that isn't shit but doesn't have to be great
>Not expensive as fuck, tired of paying 60 bongs a month for 5gb data

Note 9

Through Verizon.

Get the 7.1 in 2 weeks. Nice HDR screen and proper glass back unlike the plastic crap of the 7 plus.

Damn, sounds like I can't go wrong with any of these options.

Attached: 1520465113289.png (428x451, 226K)

>Expensive as fuck
M8 its 80 bongs, I don't want to pay that for a phone that will be outdated in the next 6 months

How cheap are you expecting to get a phone with 512gb storage?

>plastic
it's aluminium
youtube.com/watch?v=0IoEuuyciVs
why recommend the shittier nokia when he can get the better one?

small version looks fine to me

Not very

Was wondering if there was any good chinkphones like the pocophone, I dont mind 128+ though

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 comes out on the 15th
cant wait to buy one and then wait 10 weeks for it to arrive

Attached: Mi_mix_3_Xiaomi_1.jpg (770x433, 53K)

Pocophone is good choice, it's around £300 for the 128GB version

>implying glass is superior
cringe

nice device, problem is locked down bootloader

Which one will you buy?

Attached: Do_6-HjXgAAvxdG.jpg (430x414, 12K)

>Which one will you buy?
Bonito if it ever gets released and the price is right

what's a good phone for 350$ lads, haven't kept up with smartphones for some time so i have no idea what to get

Attached: 1522152632888.png (938x482, 623K)

When are the Pixel 2s gonna drop in price?

Pocophone F1
Nokia 7+
Essential PH-1
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
Moto Z2 Force

When they release Pixel 3.

Yes

Shit, I didn't even think to check that. I don't really need custom firmware, but the option would be nice. Thanks for the info.

Should I get a Note 9 or wait for the S10?

get an unlocked Z2 Force off eBay for $299.99, brand new sold by Motorola, same phone just no 18:9 screen and even with the VZW version you can unlock the bootloader and no carrier bloat

Wait for the Note 10

If you can wait, just wait for S10 release. At that point you can get the S10 or the Note 9 at cheaper price.

buy a gently used Pixel 2 XL instead of any of this bullshitto, LG's suck, Essential is dead and asus - who cares?

>outdated
NPC detected
just get a pocophone, what do you do that requires anything near 512gb?

The sammy note 9 and the huawei note 8 are the only things decent that sort-of hit your requirements.

So get over oneplus?

I save a lot of porn videos and then I go back after a few months and browse the old videos I downloaded, sort of like my own custom porn archive, gets annoying having to delete them or transfer them to my pc, 128gb is nearly always maxed out for me, I have about 30gb of music, 40gb or porn, 10-20gb of anime/movies, 5gb of manga and the rest is taken up by pictures from Jow Forums and downloaded files

>Essential PH-1
>Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

ugh, which to choose between the two? what should be my deciding factor? I'm not that user, but I am stuck between these two.

Pixel 2 has a small screen size at 5 inches.

Essential phone

>XL
>XL
>XL
read please

Shit, sorry. Anyways, it's a bit too much than what I want to spend.

either of them are good choices to be quite honest, I'd go Essential because you don't have to wait for the bootloader unlock code if that's your thing and it should be considering you'll want to get a GCam port to increase the quality of the camera

it's called the essential because it's essential to you being alive, numbnuts

Heads up, LG G6 has no notification LED.
Never occurred to me to check as I took it for an essential component.

Is it just me, or do these read as posts done by Essential marketers?

Attached: hector laughing.png (250x391, 16K)

developers said they're working on it

can't really compare them as oneplus is almost twice as expensive user. if money is no issue i'd go for the oneplus if you can live without a headphone jack

I would buy it if i was in the is us

I would go for iPhone for parents

Mi 8.
>I don't really need custom firmware, but the option would be nice
You are also limited to as many updates as your carrier sees fit. How did this ever become a thing in the US?
Makes sense, since the device is only available in practically one country in the world. And the majority of posters on this website are from the US as well.

Help pls i have a nexus 6p and looking upgrade...i hear good things about s9+, op6, p20 pro and poco ...dunno which to go with?

ok bois, my 6s has broken to where i need a new phone. still want to get an iphone, but was wondering what the best value purchase would be at this time, especially with the new ones coming out. i was thinking possibly a used iphone 8, but i've never bought a used phone before and not sure how it'd go. other than that, was thinking a new 7 or SE. thoughts?

>If requesting purchasing advice, please provide your country and what carrier you will be using it with, along with wanted features, budget and size.

Just get a phone with expandable storage and a 128gb or 256gb MicroSD card. They even sell 400gb and 512gb ones now.

Which one would Jow Forums pick?

>Xiaomi Redmi Note 5:
4000 battery
636 Snapdragon
Audio Jack
SD card slot
MicroUSB
MIUI
180€

>Xiaomi Mi A2:
3000 battery
660 Snapdragon
No audio jack
No SD card slot
USB type C
Android One
210€

Is having 25% less battery, no audio jack and 30 less euros worth it to get Stock Android and a somewhat better processor?

Attached: left Note 5 - right A2.png (952x135, 18K)

Ooops im retarded
Canada - Rogers
Want something similar to nexus 6p
max budget would be 750$

We already told you, get the RN5. If you want stock Android, unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM.

I know and thanks for your advice.
Wouldn't doing this void the warranty though?
Also, is the software really safe? Like is, say, Lineage OS practically as safe and secure as Android One?

is the iphone 8 plus a good deal at 600 dollars?

Xiaomi doesn't void warranty for unlocking the bootloader. LineageOS is safe, it's open source so anybody can go through the code and confirm there isn't anything shady happening.

yes, is this used? if not where are you getting it cause i want one lol

>budget
260$
>features
audio jack, micro SD slot, notification LED

what can you recommend?

if on budget: poco
if not: s9+ or op6

Redmi Note 5

You win, marketers.

I'm going with the Essential Phone over the Mi Mix 2.

Now, leave Jow Forums... and never return!

if you're in the US, it's really a damn good choice, developer support alone makes it worth it

>marketer
shit, if only I got paid for recommending devices, I'd have multiple OEMs sending me moneys

Sony staff: XZ2/3 design is a failure. The design will be changed next year. No more ambient flow. Designer team removed.

For me It's the Huawei Mate 10

Attached: serveimage (1).jpg (2048x1536, 625K)

motherFUCKER

>this rating

Aaagggh. I've never had an issue buying things from Amazon, be it fulfilled by them or not, but dammit. But this doesn't look good.

Attached: fug.png (1036x646, 54K)

thoughts about the Honor 8X?
Doesn't look bad for 250 Europoors, right?

Attached: 1198d518-5671-49ca-b56b-b3663c28d3f1..jpg (714x800, 136K)

>Mi 8
>best phone
>not even waterproof

Attached: 1538901271633.jpg (960x720, 65K)

O___O

If you don't mind ips glow and micro usb and a locked bootloader, then yes.

t-mobile, i'd trade in my old iphone4s and they'd give me 100. plus it's already 100 off so it'd be 600 bucks in installments.

It's like they can't decide whether they want to be Apple or Samsung.

Pixel 2 XL is sexy though.

Redmi Note 5 or Mi Max 3?
