Look! We all know the 9900K is going to beat the 2700X by some margin in 'games' and some other workloads that favor Intels bingbus platform (*COUGH* Compiler *COUGH*).
But the cost is ludicrous when you can buy a 2600 system for so much less and get satisfactory performance and with Zen 2 upgradeability you can sit back and relax safe in the knowledge that in a few months time Ryzen 3xxx is going to shit on Intels parade anyhow.
But burn your money (and bridges) now for all I care.
