Seriously it's not usable as a daily driver, stay on Windows 10 as bad as it sometimes is.. it is 100% better than Linux or try Linux but when you come back you will see all of it was just a LARP phase.
Most proprietary software that s worth something isn't available on Linux sure you could run windows in VM or use WINE but in the end you are still trying to mimic Windows so whats the point of going from the real thing to a copy cat full of holes ?

The first thing I do on a new Windows 10 install is enable WSL and install Ubuntu, because Windows is garbage without it. Windows can't even remove the Windows.old folder properly, not even using those retarded Storage Sense or Disk Cleanup utilities. However I can remove it with just one sudo rm -rf. Pathetic.

Honestly, it depends on the distro and your use case. Ubuntu, and its sister distros Lubuntu and Xubuntu are the only good non-hobby desktop distros out there. While I don't use Ubuntu as a daily driver on my desktop PC (gayming faggot here), I have it installed on everything else and I've had no issues outside of drivers; the OS itself has been stable for me. Wine has worked perfectly with the few gaymes and proprietary software I've needed on my other machines.
As for "trusting" Microsoft and Canonical: I don't trust any of these companies, but recently I have been starting to care less and less. The botnet is everywhere in almost everything; (((they))) control everything. We're all going to be dead and in the ground as some point, we might as well try to enjoy ourselves. If I want to use a proprietary botnet for gaymes, then I will. If I want to use an open source Chinese/Russian botnet, then I will.
