So I'm using KeePass 2 to manage my passwords on my desktop at home. I also have a laptop for travel, a desktop at work, and my Android phone.
I'd like to synchronize the databases between the different devices as easily as possible. My current plan is shown in the picture.
Is there an easier way to do this? I am going to test this out later today and let you know how it worked out, but any input is appreciated. Any common pitfalls I should think about?
Hello Jow Forums I'm working at a non-tech small company, and here everyone is using a fuckton of Excel spreadsheets to do everything. I think we should be using a proper database. We have things like purchase/billing histories, and I don't see how that can be managed using normal spreadsheets. I am more or less dexterous with technology. I can learn SQL or whatever I need. What I don't know is how to actually implement it. I know there is specialized software for doing these sorts of things (ERPs, ...) but they usually feel sluggish and tedious, they need training for the end-user and they can cost a lot of money.
I want to make something simple, that my workmates can use like they have always done with their shitty Excel spreadsheets. If possible, it should run on a server so that we also end the mail attachments madness.

I'm trying to setup https for a web server on my home network. I'll never access it from outside. I'm getting an error similar to this on all browsers I've tried. I can simply ignore the error and procede to the website. My question is, when ignoring the error, am I still using/protected by https?
lel Extending: excel is good for accounting and math, but we are mostly registering information.
Justin Adams
What was that website that had webms and images and you could choose a room to change the video. It had a github repo if i remember correctly but i can't seem to find it.
>Extending: excel is good for accounting and math, but we are mostly registering information. Yeah, companies have been using it for that for 30 years. Welcome to being a small business SysAdmin. These companies had their backend built by boomers. It works. You won't be able to get them to change. That's why these companies reach a point where it's valuable to be bought out, and can all of the HR and Tech support depts.
Angel Collins
>and can all and shitcan all
If you didn't understand.
Alexander Brown
I'm not even a sysadmin. I do a different job, but for a some time I have been the unofficial "IT department". We don't have IT people in company, instead these "services" are externalised. It's a technological consulting agency that supposedly fills that function, but in reality people come to me when there are issues, and those fucker consultants are there for when someone needs to buy a new laptop. Oh, and our accounting dep is using a "custom-made" (lol) software that the wankers sold to my company. And it is not even open-sourced to us. But I don't even want to think about that. If the boomer accountant is happy let her be.
I am concerned with the database thing because it affects my actual job. Sorry for the rant.

Is there a website like Roku's front page, where you can search every streaming service for a show or movie?

How impossible is to reattach a memory chip? A dude is selling a 290X with an accelero xtreme IV, i just want the cooler and the dude is selling it for 35€. Maybe I could spend 40€ repairing it somehow and get a good card to gift.
They use a special process to attach them when manufactured, so you won't be able to solder each individual connection. Theoretically, you could put it in the perfect spot and maybe glue it down, but I wouldn't trust that.
Jack Brooks
attaching a BGA chip = hard attaching a BGA with torn pads/traces = really hard unless you live in a place with low wages, getting that fixed will be too expensive to be worth it, and who knows if that'll even fix it (how did that even happen in the first place?)
James Morgan
My guess is that he installed the cooler and after some time he wanted to replace thermal pads or compound and it was stuck there. I have removed some AMD CPU coolers and taking the CPU itself too in the past because the thermal paste was like fucking glue. I think I have seen people ripping off chips like those before. I guess I will use as a decoration as it WD a great card.

>Computer working absolutely fine >Find a 256GB M.2 drive for cheap and think why not >Install it >Everything is fine >Except now I get constant "USB controller out of resources" errors
Now for some background, my computer is installed in a testbed case, I didn't unplug a single thing to install the M.2 drive so I legitimately know without any doubt that I changed nothing, no USB cables were moved to other sockets/controllers.
This isn't a PCI lanes issue either, my GPU isn't having issues. Any ideas?
You can, yes. I myself am using a 1050Ti as my main GPU, it does all the heavy lifting and drives my primary monitor and my Oculus Rift. Installed alongside that is a passive 710 GPU, it drives my second and third monitors and is is in charge of H264 recording. It's a small task to take from the 1050ti admittedly but it does so nonetheless. It's a cute little thing too.

is there a good window manager for W10 like dwm or openbox
Just think how your boomer workmates are going to interfacet with this database. Are you going to go through all the new data making sure it was input correctly and there isnt a decimal error that states 1,000 instead of 1.000? Cause if you push it you're going to be responsible for all of it. There wont be an "easy" interface that you can sell to them for this purpose
You will not get the boomers to change any software. Deal with it
Connor Robinson
lay off cunt, im just asking since I made a dual boot with wangblows and I hate really cannot stand its awful window management and general layout
Eh > Not open source > No free 2-factor auth option > No free Android option > No thank you But thanks for the tip!

You could make a quick C# application with a sqlite database.

i use keepass xc (dx on android), and syncthing to keep the db's synced around syncthing is two-way, so you can open and change on any machine, though you can opt to make one machine 'send only' if you prefer

After a couple of minutes (10-20 minutes or so) my monitors go black as there is no video signal. I have two monitors connected to a GTX1060 6GB and it's been fine up until today. I am using Windows 10 Pro.
Sound still plays and my computer is still responsive but I can't see anything as I am not getting any video signal. I took the HDMI cables out of my GPU when this happens and put them back in. When the video signal cuts off the sound cuts off and then the video cuts out. It returns and sound continues to play but I have no video signal. I have to restart my PC but it still happens. I also updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest one an hour ago.
William Gomez
This is a long shot, but here goes.
My PC keeps slowing down/locking up ~3 times a day. When it happens, I'll barely be able to do anything, and my music begins intermittently stuttering. It will pass after about a minute, and happen a few hours later usually. When it does happen, my RAM is usually at 7/8, with nothing else out of the ordinary. I've also run a memtest, chkdsk, and virus scans. What should I try next?
How do I check whether a security camera is real, ideally without touching it?
I've seen places that are riddled with so many security cameras that it's really obvious they can't all be real. But I have no way of knowing which ones are real.

I have already installed the amdgpu-pro driver in my ubuntu machine, but I want to run and write opencl 2.0 stuff, do I just need to install this support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/OpenCL2-Driver.aspx on top of the current driver or do I need something else?

How do I get vgmdb.net to work with auto taggers? I want to tag English/romaji default. I've tried both foobar2k and mp3tag. I just need this to work please. I've tried about every combination I could think of and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
If you're not gonna access it from outside then why do you need HTTPS?

Don't know if it can be applied to /sqt/, should have gone for /sci/ probably. As soon as I start studying something rigorous, it makes me tremendously sleepy, I yawn and it becomes impossible to understand things. I fall down rapidly (in terms of learning).

Check the task manager processes, find offending process. Probably got one of those auto-update memory leaks via trustedinstaller.exe or some such.

It'll do that by default, if the format is available. If it's not, add to your youtube-dl.conf: -f 'bestvideo[ext=mp4]+bestaudio[ext=m4a]' --merge-output-format mp4 It'll get if, if it exists.
Any nice interfaces from a lisp language to ncurses?
I'm planning on making a "TODO" application where I can easily add and remove stuff (and color things according to their priority).

i have some bluetooth headphones and whenever they're connected to my win10 laptop and there is no sound playing they'll start disconnecting and reconnecting every 30 seconds or so and play the disconnect/reconnect noise each time until i do something that's playing sound, the headphones don't do this with my phone and it's only my laptop that's causing this, any ideas why?

What's the deal with OpenCL C++? When is it going to get support?
I intend to block a website but I don't know how trough this app. I know I can because that's what the app does, but somehow just adding the URL i want to block in the "Your lists" menu does not work.
Tried a workaround adding a website to a pastebin and linking the raw text with the "127.0.0.1 url.com" into the hostfiles section and doesn't work either.
I restarted of course, and I'm fully rooted.

I changed my internet settings to something recommended by some user for better viewing twitch stuff. That is: IPv4 208.67.222.222 and 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4. Now, this is what my network says, but here I am posting. The fuck did I do?
I mean my internet works though, and twitch doesn't load
John Flores
Yes, turn on xmp too
Cameron Lee
Or i should say twitch doesn't give me loading screens, it loads and plays ok now. Just curious as to the specifics. I don't claim to be a computer brain, which is why I'm in the stupid question thread, and not the I know everything about technology thread
