nO.

IT'S GREAT FOR PHONEPOSTING ON Jow Forums

KEK

It's good to remap to something useful like esc or ctrl

CAPS LOCK DAY IS ONCE A YEAR. IT'S ONLY 13 DAYS TO CAPS LOCK DAY.

I always forget it's on and then wonder why my vim commands work strangely.

It's actually very useful, the perfect placement for a useless function ready to be remapped in to something that you actually need.

ALL HAIL CAPS LOCK!

...

FPBP

FUCK YOU

Caps Lock was a must-have feature when I worked in TV news. All our scripts were written in all CAPS for the teleprompter. Sound bytes were transcribed in lower case.

Must be hard typing the subtitles so fast!

As Escape key

hold for control/function key
press for caps lock

Noice. Are you still in the TV business?

OF COURSE THERE IS

I HOLD BOTH SHIFTS WHEN I'M REALLY ANGRY!

CAPSLOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL NEWFAGS.

>I worked in TV news
*I told lies to the masses
FTFY

Haha you got him, user! Well done for being such a virtue of honesty. Here is your medal and a pat on the back.

YES
NOW LEAVE MY SITE FUCKING NORMIE
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

No. I had fun during the four years I did it, but it didn't pay much... too many communications majors and not enough DMAs.

If it fucking worked for more things besides letters, I might actually use it.

underrated, kek

Free rebindable key in a good spot on the keyboard.

CRUISE CONTROL FAGGOT

I TYPE WITH MY PINKY ON SHIFT LIKE A GENTLEMAN

You use it for static variables in your favourite programming language or environment variables. As has been pointed out, you can rebind it too.

YES. IT'S LIKE YELLING ON THE INTERNET. IT'S ALSO CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

letting us have a laugh at boomers

Attached: dinovo edge.jpg (1500x847, 157K)

No, you could just map a quick double click of shift to trigger caps lock like android devices.

Never written an official documents, did you?

Remapping it as a fn key.

It's said "Never written an official document, have you?" or "Never written official documents, have you?"

CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL

Yes whatever answer the question

I always rebind capslock to escape on my computers. Makes for a very comfy Vim setup.

I use it to capitalize letters, I realize that's newfaggy but it's how I do.

>he can't play music with his Caps Lock key
lmao'ing my ass off at ur OS

Attached: linuxBTFO.png (519x154, 6K)

I doubt that applies as much to local news

Come on Mods, FFS...

>(((local news)))
No such thing

>he uses his computer with no cruise control

>he can't turn on a TV to see SUPER FUCKING AWESOME ACTION NEWS CHANNEL 4

naming constants

I actually capitalize every letter with capslock, to the point that I only ever use shift for symbols. Weird habit I picked up when I was seven or eight years old. My parents bought me this game meant for children to learn proper typing, and for whatever reason, I just found that it was faster and felt better for me to use capslock when capitalizing single letters.

Thank you fellow oldfag

i use caps lock instead of shift to use capital letters.

It is a huge pain in the fucking ass to use it with Linux as it has that stupid as fuck delay

What? Caps lock works fine for me in Linux. Maybe your DE has some accessibility setting.

HMMM NO IDEA REALLY

CONFIGURE AS A SECOND CTRL

Only Time I use it is for VHDL because of stupid conventions.

re program it to function key for little finger gymnastics.

Caps has a delay to turn off.
Lets say that i hit caps to turn it off and it turns off some ms later.
It has happened to me in unity , kde and xcfe

He's referring to full press and release autism
Turing on
>press

Turning off

Was going to post this, glad we arent all dead yet.

Rebind esc to caps lock. It will change your vim life forever

EVEN WITH CRUISE CONTROL YOU STILL HAVE TO STEER

WHEN FIRST POST IS BEST POST AND ALSO TRUTH POST

Or to control.

LMAO!

t. macfag
I have no idea how your answer relates to his post but I know that you know the relation.
Which exposes you as a macfag.

cd keys for various purposes and setting hostnames seem to be the only use

whats your dustiest key?

YEAH IT'S PRETTY CONVENIENT SOMETIMES

COMFI AS FUCK

Underrated

I use it to switch between Japanese and English input.

I use it

why

Yes I always use it YOU NEWFAG

He uses both languages. Probably for games or chatting while programming.
My wife has four keyboards installed on her mobile devices so she can chat with people. On her laptop she just uses a software switch.

GODS I WAS YOUNG THEN

remap to ESC if you use vim like a chad

yes. for Black Parade threads.

Attached: WHEN_I_WAS.png (464x558, 313K)

>that crt tv
i came

...

I remapped it to compose.
setxkbmap -option compose:caps

Now i can with COMPOSE + C + C + C + P

based

Literally none

Remap it to escape if you use vim
To left control if you use emacs

Some parts of my passwords require like 20 of them in upper case. Much faster to just turn caps lock on than have one of my hand on shift when I could be using both.

Programming in COBOL, PASCAL or FORTRAN.
