How the FUCK do fridges last so long without ever breaking?

how the FUCK do fridges last so long without ever breaking?
technology done right

they have few moving parts and those parts they do have do very few things. on top of that, they're pretty well protected from outside influences like being moved, kicked/bumped, or disrupted in other ways.

They don't run all the time.
They use a fully sealed, pressurized, self cooling system.
The pumps are usually scroll pumps which to my knowledge do not even have metal on metal contact.

There's just not much to go wrong with them, and if it does, it's usually an electrical issue.

wait until every fridge is connected to the internet so they can receive kill signal from manufacturer or h4x0rz

>hey how can we improve this simple technology that almost never breaks?
>I know lets add an lcd touchscreen and some pos system on a chip and a wifi module!

Excuse me, ma'am.
Is your refrigerator running?
*gasp* It IS?
Well, you better go catch it before it runs away!
Wa-ha! Wa-ha! Wa-ha!

Heh
*sensible chuckle*

Mine lasted for 12 years, way better than the average smartphone.

Wait for smart fridges that will be fun.

My fridge has broken down several times for seemingly no reason in the last three years. It was expensive too, stop lying OP.

>2023
>critical vulnerability in WPA2 is revealed
>you now have to upgrade your fridge
what a world we're living in

2023 is a weird way to write 2017. What calendar are you using?

>buy a fridge
>put everything in a box anyway
>put apples in it

lol dumbasses

New fridgers are shit you should have bought one made in 1978.

My fridge is from 2001

who the hell puts mustard in the center of the fridge instead of the side door?

Good shitpost. Post whatever the fuck you think counts as a critical vulnerability or fuck off.
>inb4 implementation error

Stock photos. They're not meant to make sense.

He's right though, you do appear to be living under a rock. KRACK is now a thing and WPA3 devices are already being certified.

KRACK requires you to update your fridge, technically.

Time to buy a new one. And by that I mean an old one.

Fridges. Dockerized.
