Cloud services are not a good thing. They're essentially taking more control over your data, by forcing you to upload everything to the cloud and give them all and full control over your infrastructure and applications.

Where Windows was sort of a wedge in order to keep the door open and push more applications like Office on you, their current approach is more like breaking in to your home and kidnapping your children for ransom aka eternal subscription fees.
