I'm thinking of getting the Logitech Z906 5.1 speak set

I'm thinking of getting the Logitech Z906 5.1 speak set.

Should I invest in an external/internal sound card for my PC or stick with onboard?

onboard

Alright, should I use an optical connection or some other set up?

First >$20 speaker set.

???

Don't. They're gonna be mid heavy and sound like poo.
Get some bookshelf speakers or studio monitors instead.

I've seen a bunch of good reviews, they go on sale sometime too.

I want 5.1 too.

Buy them first. Decide later.
I use them w/ onboard.

For movies are fine, but I miss my z5450 + audigy 2zs for music

Are they fine for someone whose not an audiophile but still listens to a lot of music and enjoys it sounding good?

you're going to be so fucking let down lol

How so?

For that price you could get fucking great headphones that will be way better than a cheap 5.1 setup

""pc speakers"" are shitty speakers that look "cool" that always sound like shit. always. you want 5.1 because you think you can afford it with this set but what's going to happen is you're going to be surrounded with a shit sound. for 300 dollars you could get a good bookshelf set and actually be blown away with what you get by getting passive bookshelf speakers and an amp. you could actually spend less than that and get better sound.

are you a NEET or 14yr old living in a small bedroom or something?

why would you buy a 5.1 computer stereo instead of a 5.1 or 7.1 real home theater system?

$300 budget.

I don't want headphones though.

Is there a better 5.1 set in my range?

Do you people actually use surround sound?

well, you tried user
you tried

Enjoy using your 3.1 set up, then regretting you didn't just get a 2.1 set

Yeah don't do that
I just got
>klipsch r14m speakers (comes with 2)
>pyle amp PDA7BU
$250

Fucking sounds amazing, no rumbling subwoofer, but I can add that later if I really want and I see them for 100 bucks on amazon. With the covers off the speakers look cooler than that 5.1 set too.

Had to replace mine twice for the same problem. There is a problem with the PCB in the sub that causes random power offs, before eventually not being able to turn on. Buyer beware.

Fuck, that amp looks gorgeous.

if youre going to get that, look on craigslist because they're sometimes on sale for $30

dont bother with the pc card since you wont hear the difference

>Logitech speaker sets
all base, no sound. literal garbage.

t. I owned multiple sets when I didn't know shit.
