Isn't Microsoft Edge the default browser on Windows now?
Christopher Barnes
>outside of privacy concern And customization
Jason White
>>outside of privacy concern >And customization Customization is of little concern for normies anyway
Parker Wilson
Speaking from experience I started using it like a decade ago and it's got all my passwords and shit.
It's just like any other software ecosystem. You get trapped after a long time using it without thinking, and you get to be too lazy to entertain a different solution.
Jack Campbell
Are you implying privacy is?
Mason Johnson
you could install Firefox and import everything there in the first launch. Firefox also has sync.
Cooper Wright
What's the ultimate "non-normie" browser then? Hopefully you aren't about to say firefox
Angel Garcia
Lnyx
Aaron Turner
the results are shit, it’s all takedowns and ads
search is dead for google now that all knowledge has been centralised by wikis and specialised sites
Carson Taylor
And how is Firefox better than Chrome?
Ethan Campbell
curl
Ryan Reyes
Devtools
Jack Phillips
Chrome is the best browser Firefox has so many problems, it's insane how bad it is compared to chrome if you just compare them properly
Edge is probably the "best" browser because it's sticking the web standards almost perfectly, but google is so fucking big they can just force standards by being so big they get what they want.
Charles Nelson
It's not that Chrome is good, it's that everything else is complete unusable trash
Jacob Young
I wouldn't argue it's better but having Firefox in Android I can use ublock and that makes it better for me.
Parker Smith
It's free.
Josiah Jenkins
>if you just compare them properly Dafuq this means? If you compare them with parameters that put Chrome in a better light?!
I don’t fucking know, and won’t pretend to know like some Anons, how correct is the code of any of these two browsers, how well they implement standards, or anything. What I know is that Chrome was damn fast to launch when it was released and Firefox had memory leaking problems and a cluncky GUI that broke on me many times. I used Chrome for years because of that, despite my privacy concerns. Eventually, Firefox sort itself out and I started using it, but it soon enough ran out of money and introduced similar privacy-breaking bullcrap to attract corporate money.
In the end, the only browser I have fond memories is the old, old, old Opera; back in the late 1990s, when it was still a paid browser. Maybe it was because I didn’t know better. But how tabs worked, the download manager, and mouse gestures just fit right with my “work” flow.
Nowadays, if you don’t want a botnet browser, you have many options: IceCat, if you like Firefox style; ungoogled-Chrome, if you like Chrome; Otter Browser, eventually, if you like old Opera; and qutebrowser, if you like vim.
There’s no reason to shill for a company that wants to be the Good Censor of the Internet and cries when the politician favoured by their cult loses ONE election.
Isaac Wood
But you have to use Wangblows to use Edge.
Samuel Foster
>Opera >not Vivaldi
Tyler Scott
They're all the same shit, especially if you're a normie who just needs a simple browser that lets you google search shit, so who gives a fuck? Stop being faggots.
Logan Miller
firefox is now unusable new version of NoScript is absolute shit tier joke
Cooper Perry
thats a downside
Brayden Diaz
It was simply installed automatically some time ago when installing anything else like a fucking virus and seems that it worked.
Noah Torres
No it isn't, freedom hater.
Charles Perez
Why does Windows use those awful installer wizards? Is it just Microsoft trying to appease antivirus software salesmen by having users install software in the least secure way possible?
Asher Reyes
Yes? These are the people that put their entire life story publicly on facebook and other social media, they couldn't give a rat's dickhole about privacy.
Josiah Butler
>Are you implying privacy is? It's likely far more of a concern for them
Easton Rogers
this is why firefox is trash. the top bar takes up a lot of the screen. it annoys me
then i how do i get rid of that top bar that is taking up unnecessary space?
Josiah Harris
The good thing about Chrome is that it basically never crashes on you. Even in the worst case scenario you usually just have to kill a tab. With Firefox when it crashes all your tabs close
At least it follows standards and uses your theme. Chrome just puts its ugly buttons there. Also > Caring about screen space > Using Gnome with default theme. KEK
Eli Green
you should also note the colors firefox displays are incorrect
Connor Campbell
the absolute state of brainlet. I don't even use Gnome and I know you can disable the titlebar.
Owen Ortiz
What? Literally every color on the Chrome side are incorrect. It's like it's got a red shift going on or something.
Juan Bailey
>1366x768 there's your problem
Hudson Lopez
put your window control buttons onto your panel anons, comfiest feel
>but that's mainly because Google's search results are actually better Their search results are modified to push a political agenda which means inaccurate results.
Exactly. They psyoped normies into installing Chrome. It didn't happen overnight. When did it firts start, around 2008? They constantly bombarded normies with messages on Google prodcust to switch to Chrome. Click here. Click here goyim. It works better! 10 years later ... voila.
John Rivera
>Chrome is the best browser > not using ungoogled chromuiem why are you here /v/eddit ????
>It's not that Chrome is good, it's that everything else is complete unusable trash >not using ungoogled chromuiem is this the peak performance of Jow Forums these days ?
Joseph Wilson
>using GNOME >ever
lmao get a load of this fucking retard
Nathan Miller
w3m or elinks I use Arch, btw.
Owen Clark
>is this the peak performance of Jow Forums these days ? you tell me. is there anything better than chrome. only qutebrowser comes close (and is superior in some ways), but its adblocker and memory consumption suck. speaking of sucking, you know what else sucks? surf. that pos is unusable. can't play youtube without freezing.
>UI is perfect >Tabs are seperate process >No bullshit animations >personal extensions are easy to make
That's why.
Fagfox, Brave, Vivaldi are all just bloated.
Brody Smith
of course i wouldn't say firefox waterfox is much better
Henry White
>memory consumption suck. The fact that you don't understand why this happens only confirms the namefag's point. qute use qtwebengine, the same rendering engine behind your favorite browser, chromium. >speaking of sucking, you know what else sucks? surf. that pos is unusable. can't play youtube without freezing. same issue here: surf uses old webkit which is trash. browsers like chrome that used to use it probably had to use a shit load of glue to get it to work, but standing alone it fails horribly.
Get educated.
Noah Gomez
Huge library of extensions, simple interface, it werks. It's not hard to work out user.
they probably don't even know that something other than chrome or firefox exists, they just hear chrome and think "it's internet explorer except not shit"
Sebastian James
i have literally only just started using linux and i was able to remove it in seconds
Adam Nguyen
qutebrowser is the only way to go.
FF/Chromium are uncustomizable pieces of garbage now after FF quantum. Use and CONTRIBUTE to qutebrowser to help the community overcome this shortage that the retards at mozilla brought on.
Nathan Carter
i was using it and in terms of usage i was most comfy with it. while i was using it did 5 minutes of research on the memory consumption and i know about the qtwebengine. i tried to switch to webkit and it didn't allow me to. is there another solution to this? is there any way to mend its adblocking deficiency?
Tyler Gomez
Using webkit will only lead to more pain. I find that qute's adblocking suits my needs, albeit with a small patch I had to add to block youtube ads. Other than that, what do you find lacking?
Nolan Myers
well, i've already mentioned memory consumption. the interface is minimal, but the browser itself is a bit thirstier than chrome.
also, i use crunchyroll, but qbrowser has some issues with it and wouldn't play flash videos, and as far as i know, there's no way to integrate the html5 player extension into it.
Justin Jenkins
Because it has a massive ecosystem backing it, and Opera is garbage.
There is literally NO difference whatsoever between Firefox and Chrome for 95% of people. Both work well enough and both have adblock. It all comes down to marketing and Google simply wins there. That's the one and only reason why normies mostly use Chrome.
Jaxon Anderson
manually typing HTTP requests using telnet
Dylan Flores
what is the best ungoogled chromium?
Juan Reed
Braindead normalcunts are stupid consumer pigs. They like whatever they're told to like. That's why capeshit and Nu Wars are a thing.
Dylan White
Windows didn't used to be bad. Still, I cringe whenever I see someone using 10 or all too often I see them waiting for updates to stop (lel).
>Windows didn't used to be bad Microsoft have openly had backdoors in Windows since XP.
Jackson Morales
SO. FUCKING. WHAT.
>MUH SECURITY MUH SECURITY MUH SECURITY
Devs are cancer.
Levi Sanders
>using crunchyroll You're problem for using such shitty websites and services. Not qutebrowser's >b-but I want to support anime tiddies if you want to give back to anime creators buy Blu-rays or dvd's. Or support the mangaka directly by buying the Manga.
i knew this was coming ... >using a shitty service i can use it just fine on chrome >supporting by buying blu-rays and mangas i buy mangas on comixology, but i don't want to buy physical copies of hundreds of shows i've watched. not many people can afford that. i'm fine with a few monthly subscriptions and that's it. and also, stop just listening to what digibro says and do your own research. crunchyroll actually does support the industry.
it's bundled with literally every adware-ridden gratis download. most normies I know actually have: IE (preinstalled), Firefox or Opera (installed by someone they know who "is good with computers") and Chrome (default browser) because it was bundled with coolfreesoftwareinstaller.exe
chrome is the 201X equivalent of IE toolbars
Jayden Sanders
>IE toolbars Oh lawd I'd entirely forgotten all those fucking toolbars. I used to absolutely grill people about why they were letting stupid fucking toolbars take up 1/3 of their screen.
Liam Nelson
Color and the name spread included in install packages at launch current ceo
Jayden Clark
you own the information you have AS THE FIRST HAND
you are the one giving your shitty pc things you have or know.
shut the fuck up.
Dylan Harris
this even writing down anything + all content
Chase Hill
so this is how social media emerged quickly so people had to give up their real info because of people the know in real life and stuff
Asher Morgan
It’s all about convenience. The normies are fucking lazy, and having a browser that stores their shit in the cloud, and allows it to be accessed pretty much anywhere instantly is what does it for them. Mob mentality and “following the flock” also has an influence in normies using Chrome. Honestly though, no matter how convenient it is, Chrome is still a proprietary botnet, and I had bad experiences with it on my previously shit internet, so I’ve been continually using Firefox since the better part of 2012.
Parker Murphy
Just torrent it fag
Bentley Ward
Funny you say that, Chrome's top bar is fucking thick and as far as I can tell there's no way to thin it out.
Jacob Campbell
It just werks. That's not a meme. It's something many spergs here don't want to understand.
Asher Jenkins
It's easy, fast, and works. Not everyone is a tin foil hat retard like yourself.
