I don't want to use f.lux because it's botnet and connects to google services. So i want to use this one but developer is ukranian slav so i'm not sure is it safe or not?

I wrote an exact same program because of the whole f.lux botnet thing. It only has basic functions and more than 200 loc. You want to maintain it?

Of course it is. It’s on GitHub. Also, if you’re really that concerned about the developer’s ethnicity being tied to Russian hackers, then try something else. I personally use Redshift on my Linux desktops. It works well, and is easily configured. As for Winblows and MacOS, both OSes have built in color temperature adjustment programs.
OP might be using Windows 7, and there was no built in night light mode in Windows 7.
Anyway, for linuxfags, Redshift should be sufficient
