What amplifier do you use for your speakers, Jow Forums? My Lepai LP-2020A+ is finally dying.

Audiophile retards please stay out

You realize there is already an audio general and a headphone general everyday right? Use the catalog you fucking cork sniffer.

>t. upsetti audiophool

sup.

dali zensor 3 user here.

will receive canton chrono sl 526 for investigation in a couple of days

Is it worth getting a DAC if you already have a decent soundcard? Also, how cheap can i go?

so what should I plug my 50khz sonys into?

no it's not really worth it.

you can go from 30€ to 2000€ but what matter is your usecase and paired stereo equipment.

the whole chain matters but you should first start on your end devices

mains outlet

Byerdynamics DT990 headphones and Audioengine A5+ speakers.
Solo/Magni3 DAC/AMP stack (Magni is painted Black)

I'm going to invest in new mic soon.
Deciding between Rode NT1 and NT1a.
Had anyone them both at the same time?
Looking for opinions.

No wonder you had a lepra "amp"

Attached: Screenshot_20181018-003249_Nova_Launcher.png (1080x1920, 267K)

I'm trying to dispel all the audiophile bullshit from my head. I hear the JBLs and KEFs are memed around a lot, but how good are they actually? And do amps/receivers really sound noticeably different from one another?

An amp has one job.
To amplify a signal.
Anything it "adds" to the input signal is pure distortion.
Yes amps can sound different, but that is due to to bad design(like schiit hp amps)

My headphones are upper-mid range and the built in soundcard on my mobo is pretty decent.

>My Lepai LP-2020A+ is finally dying.
Finally? after what, a year?
I'm using pic related from 1982 I bought at a garage sale for $5.

Attached: yamaha_r-300_stereo_receiver.jpg (800x270, 42K)

I use a Krell

Attached: kst10012.jpg (800x1002, 194K)

literally listening to music through a Vizio sound bar because one of my speakers blew out.

I have a couple 12" 1200W RMS subwoofers but no amp to push them... and no car to build a system with. Also have a nice old Denon amp.

Not really doing much with audio at the moment.

Memes aside, does someone make a good Bluetooth headset?

i can't think of anything ive seen over the past 3 years where anyone said wow thats an excellent bluetooth headset

Hi fellow sideways Jbl user

Attached: IMG_4036.jpg (4032x3024, 1.82M)

literally
newfag

Go back to your shitty, needy, attention-starved thread, samefagger.

just get any decent 10 year old 100+ wpc AVR at about $15 to $30

Jbl !

How badly do they crush mids?

Is this a new meme?

if you intend on getting a electric instrument or microphone then yeah sure grab a audio interface with monitoring/playback

otherwise you should be fine with the soundcard

No, most Presonus speakers except for the very high end crush mids pretty badly.
You're paying for the brand mostly.

Only their audio interfaces are both good and affordable.

Could/should I use this to connect my laptop to monitors instead of getting an USB audio interface?

the jbl's are nice and suit everyone.

i'd say that kef's are hugely subjectively rated speakers. they have their drawbacks and sometimes sound too neutral for my taste but this depends on the speaker.

it depends on what you like and what you want.
also speaker sizes and build designs are a huge consideration for your sound.

The mids on my Presonus sound well when I compare them with my HD600 and K702.

What do you think of the Zensor 3

I have the Zensor in 7.1 with 1,5,7,vokal and SUBE12F.

Might get the Zensor 3 to replace my DALI Concept 2.

they sound really good but their highs are troublesome. they are refined but unsure about tonality behaviour as it seems.

male and female voice tonality sounds off all the time. but any other than that, mids and bass is crispy and on point

i think the problem is because they are tuned so audiophile that this gender issue becomes more apparent

great.. now we have gender politics in speakers as well

>tfw sjw speakers

Will try to cover this issue on video on Saturday if you like. My galaxy s9 seems really good at capturing sound differencies

Canton Chrono SL 526 on Saturday and Wharfedale Diamond 225 on Wednesday guys.. excited as fuck

What receiver or amp are you using?
I find the highs very accurate on my Z7's which is the same tweeter like the rest.

there's another thing to the dali zensor 3. the stereo imaging is not really broad. it goes deep but it doesn't differentiate that much compared to a Polk S20 or Quadral Argentum 520. it sounds like it's having a harder time doing all the frequencies correctly than place the stereo laid out instruments correctly. the quadrals did it to me in the last round. i most likely will try some of their upper class speakers when i didn't found a challenger after wharefdale and canton. i've yet have to test monitor audio and dynaudio though. those are the 2 last contenders in my list

i use a Denon PMA-1600NE which is superior to what i used prior which was a Marantz AMP-1

oh and i need to audition the Oberon 3 and B&W 606 at my local retailer at some point.

Marantz is just overpriced Denon's from the same company.
But I can't say I have anything to come with since I haven't tried any of those two.
I use a DENON 2313 (pre-Ci models) myself which might give the highs a warmer tone than the 1600NE.

>Oberon 3
You and me both.

well i'm sure you can get the same sound from a 500€ amp but i got the 1600NE for 800€ instead of 1200€ so i'm dealing with this buyers remorse

At least you don't have a fully working receiver... that is used with a 4K TV but no UHD@60Hz and buying a new one is too much money to get rid of the inconvenience.

Instead of one HDMI from the GPU to the receiver and then to the TV, I have to use one HDMI from the GPU for the audio to the receiver and then one to the TV for image which results in Windows seeing two monitors all the time.

:(

Why don't u find something cheap on accessories4less fren?

I'm so attached to this lil-receiver.

Not a single scratch, not a single finger print, pristine condition.
I've had it for almost 7 years already.

I fear that if I buy a second hand one it'll have a dent or scratch mark somwhere.

Nit-picky, yes.
Stubbornly so, but I do like to take care of my hardware.

>KEFs
Audiophool lifestyle garbage.

Attached: 8030A-LS50.png (1200x1110, 246K)

You could keep it for a second system.

KEFs okay. They used to be better priced, now they got too proud. I looked at some inwalls from them recently and what the fuck.

I won't recommend kefs in the future. They do nothing amazing except timing accuracy

JBL and KEF have all sorts of models with all sorts of qualities. You have to be more specific than that.
>amps/receivers
They can be engineered so that the primary difference is how loud they will go, give or take some hopefully small amount of quiescent noise. That does not mean they always are, as may be the case with boutique audio equipment, but they often are.

Is there a problem if I post the receipt online of an item I want to sell? to prove I bought this headphone on a specific date.

You mean identity wise? Receipts have sale numbers and stuff, the vendor could track it back to you, but not much risk for some random on the net.

the ones built into the speakers

>And do amps/receivers really sound noticeably different from one another?

Ya'll seems to be forgetting that some amps literally have no bass compared to others

Nakamichi SR-4A Stasis. Got it from my dad.

Have these speakers currently, should I get new ones?

Attached: logitech-z313-front.jpg (724x407, 26K)

yes

Is there something budget friendly?

totally depends on the budget, but generally yes

Around 50€ maybe.

Save for another while. You're not going to get anything worth buying for that.

Very well.

broke ass nigga

Is there a guide somewhere on buying studio monitors?

Depends on what you want. If you don't know. Get an xlr interface with lsr305

Ok

Why do the lsr305 get reccommended so much? Dont they have an infamous hissing issue?

>Audiophile retards please stay out
>thread still gets filled with snake oil, placebo effect retards talking about """"stereo imaging isn't really broad"""" and describing speakers as fucking """""""refined""""""""
>still get a bunch of bullshit tube amp and fucking home theater receiver recommendations
OP here, I'm out. You people are retarded cork sniffers. Peace

Does genelec GLM software allows to calibrate not for single listening spot but for wider area (like sofa)?

yeah you can do multipoint measurements for a bigger calibration sweet spot. it will take the averages and try to make a good dsp profile.

I've read manual and seems that its very small amount of measurements, for some reason Dirac wants more, for example. Thats strange.

The other thing I can't get if I can disconnect monitors from GLM device and will they store their parematers after that or will they reset to their initial state?

>The other thing I can't get if I can disconnect monitors from GLM device and will they store their parematers after that or will they reset to their initial state?
there's a 'last saved' dip switch on the SAM genelecs that let you store dsp profiles and use them without GLM connected. so yes they will store the parameters after that.

Depends on how much you enjoy the soothing crackle of electrical interference

Are soundbars for TVs just a meme or they really are good? What should I buy for a good audio experience for my parents?

schiit.com/products/fulla-1
is this good for the price? i want something to plug my pc speakers into, so needs to be small enough to fit on the desk.

>this triggered /ag/

Attached: JBL-Arena-170-Cinema-5-11.jpg (1200x819, 157K)

Soundbars are just small, shitty speakers. People buy them because they are slim and small enough not to trigger the wife.

If their TV has digital out then just plug that into powered monitors or an amp/DAC with regular speakers

Stereo vs multichannel for the same price(music)? Lets say 6k usd?

Surround sound music is a dead fad, hope you like hunting down limited print classical music DVDs from 2005

micca + lepai

its a good theatre system
i probably wouldn't use it for music tho

its wicked convenient

disagree about jbl
please return to the other thread with your samefagging cultist cancer

youtube.com/watch?v=DgnuuHGjzj4

what's the point of these type of videos? Doesn't it depend on the microphone and your own speakers?

they're both okay but the jbls are a bit lifeless, the adams are more muffled than i thought theyd be and the jbls ever more so

it does, but if the microphone and speakers are sufficiently sensitive then the comparison is still valid

meaning you will hear the net difference but not the absolute quality

>being this poor
let me guess, you're OP and jealous of harbethanon and his 4367

Attached: 1521397709591.gif (720x404, 3.42M)

i haven't heard marantz versus denon, but marantz is more refined with music than pioneer, but pioneer is better for strong low midrange and bass than marantz

i don't think most people would notice much difference

can you go back to your own thread and irritate yourself

there's actually a reason why you don't have friends

>he really is jealous

His other thread expired because no one interacted with him. I suggest you just hide his posts because he's a huge waste of time.

oh no no no

pls stop bullying harbethanon, i just want my comfy audio threads so I can ask questions about my living room setup build.

Music usually doesn't have the dynamic requirements of cinema, but classical can get up there. It's also rather rare.
Some similar ideas hold, the LCR quality is paramount, the rears less so.
Listening distance, space, and subwoofers?

i m getting my bose 901´s finally
opinions about them?
and i have a pair of telefunken tlx 22/4 pro with a tr550 hifi reciever.

are those bose speakers
