fuck off NPC
kill yourself already
Distraction-free. It just plays audio and video files and I don't have to think about an avalanche of settings menus.
Because those niggers are delusional. There isnt even basic authentication. I just fucking paste a link on VLC and I type in the user and pw
mpv fags just love over complicating things
because it's hard to use
is NPC the new cuck?
>highly customizable
>high quality playback

Many of the functions of these scripts aren't possible in other players. And then there are custom ones people make.
Using scripts with a fucking video player? So the answer to OP's question is "autism"?
is there one that makes screenshots have an MPC-HC style filenaming?
RTFM
You can customize it however you want

Do you know that this is a tech board? There are people here who acutally know what there doing. I guess people like you call them autistic.
MPV is simpler than VLC, which is why I use it.
Everything is easier and works better, and faster.
Because I use PotPlayer like any normal human being
how do I exactly change options
i just want one that displays videoname and time it was taken and time in the video in brackets
Yes
how do i keep teh window open but not with the current video paused? just a fresh "drag files here to open" screen
Something like screenshot-template=C:\Users\user\Pictures\%F_[%P]
lower case p doesn't include milliseconds and lowercase f keeps the file extension
where do i put that line of code in?
how can I see if a video is 8-bit or 10-bit on mpv?
>time it was taken
why? this is useless, your file system already does this
open notepad
paste code (change user to your username or change the path it you want)
save as mpv.conf
change the save as type to all types
put in the same folder as mpv.exe
I would also recommend adding profile=gpu-hq if you have a decent computer
Ah, I see now thanks.
>I would also recommend adding profile=gpu-h if you have a decent computer
What difference does that make?
it includes scale=spline36
cscale=spline36
dscale=mitchell
dither-depth=auto
correct-downscaling=yes
sigmoid-upscaling=yes
deband=yes
Look up what those are on your own. There may not be much of a difference if you watch good encodes at native res. But you can compare with or without and ctrl+s to apply filters and scaling to screenshots.
And if you want to use your gpu for decoding add hwdec=yes or specify an API like gpu-api=d3d11
gpu-context=d3d11
hwdec=d3d11va
Link the so called manual where i can figure of this piece of shit command out
Soo
how do I change %tX to be a unix timestamp like on 4ch
Authentication for what? If it's streaming then that is a youtube-dl option
Authentication Options:
-u, --username USERNAME Login with this account ID
-p, --password PASSWORD Account password. If this option is left out, youtube-dl will ask
interactively.
-2, --twofactor TWOFACTOR Two-factor authentication code
-n, --netrc Use .netrc authentication data
--video-password PASSWORD Video password (vimeo, smotri, youku)

Mostly copy paste even if you dont want to spend so much time on settings you can just leave it alone and enjoy after running install-adding association file.
toggle mpv stats and look at the pixelformat
NPC is unironically reddit psuedo intelectual tier. Go away.
what does yuv420p mean?
Left, or Right?
Pls r8, thnx.
yuv420p is 8 bit
yuv420p10 is 10 bit
other pixel formats exist, but p10 at the end is 10bit
left
"like the pleb human being", you mean?
not even f/a/ggots use it user.
Right. Left is washed out.
Left is washed out, right is oversaturated. Both are shit in their own right.
Left is mpv. Right is white balanced.
left looks to be the "RAW"
mpv with what settings? Did you use ctrl + s?
>vlc
Default, and used ms screen capture.
lol
Try with profile=gpu-hq and take a screenshot using mpv by pressing ctrl + s
>Default
I edited config since then though.
>profile=gpu-hq
That was enabled.
> pressing ctrl + s
Why, the left image is what it looks like when displayed on my monitor.
>That was enabled.
Then don't say you used defaults. Wtf
I forgot that it was enabled when I took the image dickwad.
The fuck is your problem user?
lol settle down gramps. Some people are just more forgetful than others I guess.
Are you calling me "Gramps", because I made you feel like shit after you said
>lol
>hurr durr try this sekrit setting that everyone does automatically when first installing mpv
Yea, thanks for the advise pal.
No, it's because you 'forgot' what settings you used.
It's funny you couldn't even realize that. You're good entertainment.
Sure it is
>lol
Dumbass.
t. 50 y/o zoomer
lol
>lol
>try with profile=gpu-hq
it welcome
Why would you use Ctrl s
That shit includes filters, subs, OSD and other crap.
Why would you not want to include filters? That's what makes the image look better. The OSD only shows if you move your mouse when taking a screenshot. So if you dont want it to show, dont move your mouse...
Jow Forums is a contrarian board
Using Windows screen snip is good for
type of comparison.
normal screenshots show filters too
>Non-Player Cuck
>7788
heil hortlr
>Windows screen snip
And that includes the filters used. user made it sound like including filters and 'other crap' was bad.
>normal screenshot
You have to be more specific. If you mean using your OSs screenshot tool, then yes. If you mean using the s key in mpv, then no.
Not sure why you're telling me this though...
>mpw
op fix ur bot
Use
>cntrl+s
grampa boomer
>Why would you use Ctrl s
>That shit includes filters, subs, OSD and other crap.
I don't care what you use retard. user made it sound like filters are bad to include.
Which user? Link the post my 90 year old friendo.
yes, and I was using it to describe normies well before it became a meme.
What is wrong with you? You could have just figured it out from who I quoted.
>If you mean using the s key in mpv, then no.
that has preserved video filters, change in aspect ratio, cropping filters, shaders etc in screenshots since the beginning of this year
github.com
>What is wrong with you?
Phone poster that lacks motivation.
> You could have just figured it out from who I quoted.
Hush... it was better this way.
I use PotPlayer as it includes MadVR without fucking with anything
>just use VLC
The reason I personally use smplayer+mpv instead of VLC is that the audio at the start of files stutters like crazy in VLC when playing with networked pulseaudio output. It plays fine after a few seconds of this, but if I have a playlist with say 10 musicvideos then it will do this at the start of every new file. It's very annoying.
My surround receiver is connected to a box and audio from my desktop and laptops go through that (so I can play on the stereo regardless of what I'm using at the time). Everything else works just fine with this setup, VLC is the only program that has this odd problem with this setup so it's not an alternative. It's only a problem with networked pulseaudio output, btw, it's fine if I use the built-in speaker on my monitor or headphone output.
mpv can't switch audio sinks on the fly. It has to be done in the terminal upon launch. It's inferior to VLC in this regard and no amount of crying here will convince me otherwise. Only Linux has the ability to separate programs to independent audio sinks. Windows and MacOS lack this feature so it has to be arranged by the program itself. If I want to play music on my nice stereo system and leave normal system sounds on my desktop speakers I have to use VLC because mpv cannot handle switching at all. I'm not closing my fucking session to modify the variables in the command line.
>I have to use VLC
you could use the smplayer front-end for mpv. that's what I use. It's got a menu and you can change audio output from it.
Does this not work on mac?
gist.github.com
Did they change how autoload.lua is supposed to be installed?
My old one was having issues and I downloaded the new one off the github and it... doesn't work at all.
You can be both
My idx/sub subtitles appear like this, is there a way to make them readable?
im dumb
nevermind, fucked around with the .idx file and changed the colors
Wow man, you really were ahead of the game huh? So cool
because im not autistic enough to use ffplay
go back to /mu/ you fucking hipster snowflake
is there a way to set
>scale
>cscale
>dscale
all at the same time with one command?
Explain your use case. Do you want presets you switch at the press of a button or what?
Which one to use?
Shinchiro.
mpc-hc is better.
remove profile=gpu-hq and set scale only
I have two videos, one that is 20 minutes and 30 seconds long, and another video that is 20 minutes and 25 seconds long, is it possible to add 5 seconds at the end in the other video without screwing over the quality?
>use VLC
I don't use VLC because it is French.
>can't even adjust volume
LMAO
Try typing mpv instead of mpw.
I'm sure you'll have much better results.
9, 0, or keyboard volume keys werk on my machine.
>not using smplayer
lmao
easier to remove 5 seconds from the longer one
I know but if it's possible to add 5 seconds to a video without screwing over the quality or the encode, that'd be great
>not using mplayer
lmao
deprecated
No. Most of you guys here are NPCs as well and actual NPCs would be the one to regurgitate that term over and over as in insult
