Special purpose distros are only good for booting off USB drives. If you want to install on your hard drive you should choose a more general purpose distro and then configure it as you see fit.

You're not supposed to install it. Boot it from a USB stick or a live CD when you use Tails.

Install it on one usb, then boot up tails from that usb and install tails onto another usb from that tails. It's the most secure way.
Don't divulge ANY personal information on the tor network. EVER.
Do not make any accounts using passwords from clearnet accounts.
Don't do anything that could be associated with any aspect of your clearnet activity.
