First for buy Sennheiser and Schiit.

Second for HE400i is pretty gud with EQ

Thinking about giving up recommending STAX. If people aren't an NPC they'll discover it on their own like I did.

Friendly reminder.

>tfw listen to a lot of EDM so STAX wouldn't work too well

i'll probably get l300s and a srs232 if i can get 700 bucks lol. till then i ain't touching stax.

just do the seal mod, subbass increases so much you may need to EQ it down

Just have fun with it user
Stax is amazing for edm

The fat fuck just uploaded a one hour long video about gaming headphones again

I have headphones with 62ohm impedance, DAC with 10ohm on the front port and 47ohm on the rear RCA output.
Does impedance matter as long as you can turn it up to a listenable level? Should I use the front or rear port?

Attached: 36138624.png (285x271, 136K)

And you will watch it like a good boy

I wish I had a cute anime girl IRL to play with and fulfil all my deviant fetishes with. :(

It’s not exactly optimal, but the front port shouldn’t fuck up the sound too much. Hell, you could even like that little raise in bass.

I want to fuse my face to her asshole

output impedance should be at most 1/8 of the headphone impedance in order to not affect the sound of the headphone

>Does impedance matter?
No. Newfags will try to tell you it does because they don't know any better and are still bluepilles

I want to lick her feet

This. Impedance has zero effect on sound.

Output impedance does.

I want to live in Stephen’s universe

Post measurements. Below 0.5dB won't be audible, in practice more like 1dB. Output impedance affects bass the most. Easily eq'd out.

Lower = better, got it. Thanks.

No, you bluepilled audiophool faggot. There’s no hearable difference, it’s all snake oil.

Literally just check the link a couple posts above:

>listening to some audiophool shill

You must not have very good ears then.

Kill yourself, audiophool.

benchmarkmedia.com/blogs/application_notes/11653109-the-0-ohm-headphone-amplifier

Yes, obviously lower impedance is better just as lower THD is better. The question is when is it audible and when is it on practical concern.

>benchmark
scam meme snake oil company

This is 120 ohm headphones on 10 ohm output - so it doesn’t even break that 1:8 ratio and there’s still some FR fuckiness. Now, the user who originally asked about this is planning to plug 62 ohm headphones into the same output, which means a much, much larger FR shift. But sure, let’s just use shit outputs and pretend we can EQ them accurately, even though we don’t know which all frequencies they will affect.

Attached: 62ABADF5-5314-4378-B925-6BA070A52B9F.png (680x438, 17K)

Edge case example and only 1dB, easily eq'd. Impedance varies from headphone to headphone, the sennheiser you posted in pic related is one of the most extreme cases. The user would likely have a much smaller shift in FR.

What about the troubling increase in THD?

no u

Distortion is not audible in a headphone system when your amp or headphone driver isn't clipping

folks yes, i do listen to neko case on my cat headphones

>audiophool shill
Choose one, faggot. Nwavguy was the biggest proponent for objectivism in headphone audio, everything he said that did was based on measurements. He was the Amir of his time, until Jude and his goons forced him to go under.

Aw yiss, does this mean that my Grados are actually good now?

Attached: 26491931-1847-46CA-B2AB-B1836FEC2C1F.jpg (1242x1602, 520K)

Rafe A. from Innerfidelity tried Chord Hugo TT2 and M Scaler at RMAF and found them the best of the show along with Ether 2. Man, I want them so bad now.

No they aren't good but that distortion on grados isn't audible due to the severe volume rolloff. If you try to compensate for the rolloff with EQ then you'll hear the distortion

It’s cheaper and better to get Yggy + Raggy than the Hugo 2 TT

the schiit fears this madness

Schiit's got their own vynil player.
Nice. Hopefully the new setup replaces the Fulla2, which is quite the bottleneck for your HD600.

Attached: 1534513887677.png (1920x1080, 1.05M)

ye its gonna be the 8220, so i don't expect a miracle lol.
i have a magni 2 but again, i heard no difference between the fulla 2 and the magni 2 using the fulla 2 as a dac.
magni 2 straight plug into my sound card is literal earbleed.

also the pic wasnt supposed to be just the turntable but i had to show my baby off lol
that slipmat is the centerpiece to my setup lol

This beauty just arrived!

Are CIEM's worth it lads? I hardly ever listen to music at home, preferring to listen at work which makes it difficult to use open backs. I'm also planning to travel over seas this summer and it'll be nice to bring something portable with me.

Attached: CIEM.jpg (750x1200, 415K)

I want to lick her cute asshole.

I'm looking into getting CIEMs as well, so far this is my maker list for reference
headfonia.com/custom-iem-recommendations/
(and crinacle's list as well)
I like the idea of reaching personal portable endgame

man how's that vs er4 series?

I haven't tried the er4 that you are referring to. But the Tin T2's have a very neutral sound signature, while also having an airy and spacious sound presentation, if that is what you are looking for.

>muh grados can be EQed to a lambda throughout most of the audible range.

Just, when people asking in ear of hd600, the response is mostly ety.
And right now some people talk how good tin t2 compared to hd600. But still didn't find who ever tried both ety and tin.

Which ones were you thinking about getting? I liked the sound of 64 Audio they have some pricey IEMs.

Thought about 3 driver Pear Audio and FIBAE3.
Maybe Kumitate Lab Sirius, but I'd like to listen to some samples before buying, just like with previous manufacturers. Local hifi shop only does JH, 64 and some other brand.

Lucky, you even have a local hifi shop. There's none near me and the closest to a audio shop I have would be Best Buy. I am planning to go to NYC this Christmas which would give me ample opportunity to trial some headphones and IEMs. But at the same time I would like to purchase these CIEMs during Black Friday to save up on some money.

What's the recommended noise cancelling headphone?

Sony’s new WH-1000XM3. Before it was a close call between BW PX, Bose QC35 and Sony WH-1000XM2, but XM3 revision pushes it in first place easy.

Audeze LCD-2C or Hifiman HE-5se?

Attached: 1494175164017.gif (600x600, 899K)

If you had it, wouldn't you know whether it was worth having?

Chord is overpriced and shrill sounding, yuck. If you want a neutral and detailed source unit and are willing to pay a lot, consider ADI-2 Dac.

I just ordered LCD2C and the wait is killing me

So I've got about $70k in ETFs/savings for a house/stuff/idk. I live at home since rent is bullshit high.
I've got a $1200 setup and while that is pricey it isn't eye-watering

third pair of chinkshit jvc ha-fxt90's finally died. sound was great, and the seemed to last about 2 years each.

thinking of upgrading to either gr10e, er4s, or isine 10. they seem to go for $150-200 used. i really want to try se535's but i'm pretty sure anything not sold by an authorized dealer is fake.

or maybe should i just buy more chinkshit?

>LCD2C
If I see them on sale somewhere I'll be very tempted to grab them

I'm not even that into my audio gear, but I frequently visit /hpg/ for the cute anime girls in OP.
Well done and please continue posting.

Attached: fas34fr.jpg (560x661, 101K)

can't speak for sound quality of those two models, but i'm thoroughly turned off by hifiman's chinky build quality
>he400 is super flimsy. i always baby them because it feels like i'm going to break the thin plastic cup mounts. when resting, the cups always twist into a weird angle, and have occasionally popped off the mounts.
>lcd-x is a heavy steel rock. i'm probably biased, it might be my endgame.

audeze usually does refurbs and b-stock for 10-20% off on black friday

I've also heard their stuff is average for the price.

Most of their stuff feels somewhat overpriced, but LCD2C is a solid option in its price range if one desires a darker sound signature.

Psalmanazar in SBAF said that RME ADI-2 DAC sounds veiled, compressed and has an artificial sheen.

Learn some electronics.
The voltage drop is in proportion to the impedance (Z) of each device in series, for something roughly in phase. If Z magnitude does not vary significantly over the range, then all that happens is an even loss of voltage over the load. Take a look at the Z measurement sometime and don't just blindly apply rules of thumb. Even if there is a significant change, it may be beneficial to the balance of the sound output.
The Benchmark paper is not measuring the acoustic output. The distortions produced are from the non-linear motor, which would normally drop its distortions over the headphone driver when the terminals are shorted ("0" ohm Zout). This does not imply an increase in distortion output.

It's a fixed purchase. Resale value is low, returns impossible.
You aren't buying it for isolation or sound quality, but for the fit. Some can sound very good or very bad, some can isolate plenty or not. This is no different from a universal fit model.
Isolation will depend on shell material and fit style. Whether shallow or deep fit will be by request. Silicone usually has some flex and more isolation but is less durable. Acrylic is easier to work with and easier to decorate.
Remember to take your impressions beyond the second bend and relax while it is going on. If you experience persistent discomfort, a re-fit may be required. This will be offered as part of the service, so keep that in mind.

>This does not imply an increase in distortion output.

Then why does it say

>audible increases in distortion may occur when the damping factor is
too low

?

He said detachable cable you fucking nigger
