SPECCY

Go on, user. Post speccy report of your generic workstation, and receive free attention in return.
Bonus points for unique setups with ULV CPUs.

Speccy is dead, shit and also malware.

>malware
Please elaborate?
I'll switch to hwinfo instantly if that's true.

Phone posting and forgot which put ssh on lol

Works for me.

My HD7970 is out for delivery, the eternal GPU will be here soon.

Attached: NB OC.png (1128x577, 245K)

The beloved FX-8350.
Mine is still chugging happily along as a server chip, works well for that with it's 8 cores.
Sucked for single threaded games though.

Attached: speccy.png (640x577, 63K)

Is there any reason to upgrade anymore?

Attached: speccy.png (763x586, 43K)

Why would you get a 7970 instead of the 380/x? Its more modern and better supported. Allso uses less power and has a very similar price. I mean i loved my 7970 until i got a 1070 on the cheap but the 380/x is a way better purchase.

Attached: 14512753255427.png (414x248, 51K)

It does suck ass at single core because it was designed as a multithreaded server chip from the beginning, so video editing is incredible for what it is, and it makes for amazing server when you do retire it as the main system.

I saw it for 79 dollars and I had to grab it, it's right on the heels of a 1050ti on benchmarks, I thought, "Why not do the ultimate 2012 gaming rig?

absolutely not.

$79 is a good deal but i would be worried about longevity. High end cards draw a lot of power and put out a lot of heat. No guaranteeing that card isn't on it's last legs. At least repaste it when it gets there.

The heat concerns me because my current card is a 55w cutie, I'm gun run furmark while I sleep to see if it straight up dies when I get it.

When will Speccy fix the Ryzen temperature bug where it reports the temperature over twice as high than it actually is?

That is alot of ram, though.

bakas, ccleaner was suspected of it. not speccy.

I thought it would last me 30 years.
Now I'm concerned if it'll last me 20.

Get an 8350 or the better binned 8370 for it, user, it's a 970 UD3 board.

Also get 16GB of 1866 kingston HyperX stuff, then it will last a while.

That'd cost money though, and consumer electronics are ridiculously overpriced.
I could maybe muster $40 every 3 years, but I still haven't recovered from the SSD purchase.

>it's a 970 UD3 board
And it sucks. Doesn't even (properly) support core unlocking.

Not to worry, it's good enough for now, at least until 2022-2023. It's just worrisome what the future might bring.

>I could maybe muster $40 every 3 years
Where on Earth do you live that $15/year would break the bank?

That's what I always ask the intl fans when they say the the Fx 8350 is terrible because it's 30w more than an i7 chip. If the the small difference in power usage is a deal breaker then you need to find a cheaper hobby.

East Europe.
It's hell.

I have no idea how people manage to survive if I work in one of the best paying professions in the country and can barely feed myself and pay the bills.

Jesus christ.
A fucking chinaman working in Apple's suicide factories makes enough to afford smartphones and shit.
I'm sure you could move somewhere more west and make money.

I mean the 8350 is kinda irrelevant now that Ryzen 2nd gen is out.
A 2700 wipes the floor with a 8350, though you could probably get an 8350 for super cheap.
AM4 motherboard and DDR4 RAM would offer a better upgrade path though.

There are few hobbies that are cheaper than PC gaming. Games can be had for $5 and you can build a damn good system that will last for years for an average of $20/month.
Playing sports, biking, hiking, driving, etc can all easily eat up hundreds of dollars a month, if not thousands (if you have money).

It is an old as fuck CPU so I wouldn't recommend to anybody who currently isn't using an am3+ board.

ew, a disgusting jpg screenshot

I swear this is what speccy is gonna look like if they don't get their shit together.

I used the portable version, let's see if the install makes a difference.

Speccy is abandonware. They only update it to keep it compatible with new Windows 10 builds. No serious work has been done on it in over four years. It still doesn't even detect DDR4, which was introduced along with X99 in August 2014.

It did not make a difference.

Probably going to upgrade to a 3700X next year.

Attached: speccy_2.png (660x532, 37K)

server ddr3 is stupid cheap
I slapped 48GB in my server for way less than $100

RAM and ZFS are like chocolate and peanut butter.
ZFS with a ton of RAM feels like you have an SSD in the server.

yeah user, go america for the big titties and freedom dollars

it says right fucking there on the top of the page that this site is 18+, you fucking child

Neat.
I work for the DoD so we don't get to take any leftovers home. They have to go to "Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office", so instead they usually just sit in cabinets someplace until they are 10 years old and worthless.

>Having a card for gaymen is for adults

RTX line is pretty dissapointing and current games are so bland

i only upgrade when shit breaks so i never had upgrade plans to begin with

-Old xeon i got for free
-Core 2 board and case from a 17$ lenovo m70e mid tower
-1$ 771 to 775 socket mod sticker on ebay
-Ram I found in a drawer
-Boot SSD from a broken thin client that
-GT 1030 passive from a EVGA midweek madness sale for 35$
-Power supply from some PC reseller desktop I got for free
-$5 strip of LEDs shoved haphazardly into the case
-Found a random case exhaust fan for an intake

Priceless shitposting machine, I'm not changing anything.

not everyone is a gaymer.

Unfortunately, no.

There won't even be another title worth playing for ten years or more most likely.

Unless you are rendering shit frequently there's literally no reason to have such a feature-rich CPU without taking advantage of all the PCIE lanes it gives you
