It depends on the product and the extent of the repair.

For a Macbook Air, for example, if the thing was liquid damaged and the display, logic board, top case and battery was effected, which for one of those computers is practically the entire thing anyway, the repair would cost more than a new one.

Conversely, for a new (2016/17/18) Macbook Pro, you can build one of those completely from repair parts for less than a new device.

Apple *can* decline to repair a device that is "beyond economical repair", but can if requested in the case of insurance claims, etc.

Nope, I don't keep my phones in a back pocket. The 5s is notorious for having the bending issue. A lot of people were saying the screen popping out was due to the Li-Ion battery expanding and pushing the screen up. Also, go back to Jow Forumseddit with that spacing.
