on linux/nvidia 1060 before latest driver (4 core cpu)
>cpu usage 180%
>gpu usage 35%
new driver
>cpu usage 10%
>gpu usage 30%
good for me

Has anybody gotten around to building a ncurses/tk interface for youtube on top of MPV?
I remember setting out to do it at one point but lua disgusts me, and then I got busy with other shit.

I was going to post this
most 4k 60fps is either games, drones or kpop, and i know Jow Forums likes kpop

>God knows why

Why is the new autoload.lua not working?

I didn't know music more bland than western pop was possible

nancy is kind of overrated

Got a new 580 and I was trying confs from previous threads. I've testes gpu-hq instead of opengl-hq and got issues when trying to see streams from Twitch. Someone would mind on giving some advice?

mpv a cute

have a radeon hd 2000 ish
what vo do i use, vdpau or vaapi?

>normieland

Please use the default gpu-hq if you can but if you had to choose between the two, VDPAU. Quote from the manual:

>vaapi
>Intel VA API video output driver with support for hardware decoding. Note that there is absolutely no reason to use this, other than compatibility. This is low quality, and has issues with OSD.

What kind of issues?

clear your build folder

mpv is trash on windows, why do they even make a build for it?

1080p H.264 file - i7 6700 GTX 1080ti
>VLC 5%/8% CPU/GPU load
>MPV 14%/16^ CPU/GPU load

the only thing it has going for it is a really great scrubber from what I can tell

why can't this piece of shit program rotate videos easily?

on mpc-hc you just click alt+numpad3 to rotate videos

And your tests were using identical scalers, hardware decoding, no interpolation, etc.?
>it is a really great scrubber
A what?
[key] cycle_values video-rotate "90" "180" "270" "0"
in input.conf

hanna chan in the real world

>>it is a really great scrubber
>A what?

I think he means when you "scrub" through a video with the seek bar.
I've noticed this myself - MPV excels at it compared to VLC.
