Reminder that the 12 core 24 thread AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X CPU is actually cheaper than Intel's new Core i9 9900k housefire. The motherboards for are a bit more expensive which puts motherboard+CPU at price-parity.

Intel's has a small muh single-core advantage, for everything else Threadripper 12 cores and 64 actual PCIe lanes makes it the obvious choice. Really makes me wonder why Intel prices it like they did. Perhaps they know some will compare it to the 2700X, which is almost half it's price, not realizing those chips aren't competing at anywhere near the same price-point.

Crawl out from your rock and look at current CPU prices. Intel's offerings are 60-70% more expensive and AMDs for the same level of performance right now. Last month retailers in Europe sold 80% AMD CPUs. Intel has screwed up badly and this won't change until late Q1 2019. I'm not happy about that since it rules out buying anything Intel for some time (you'd be stupid to do that) but I can tell you AMD is probably very happy about it.
