Intel 9900k

>Overclock 100 mhz

Defend this

This is 14nm pushed to it's absolute limits. Better hope that 10nm improves fast.

>octocore processor already running at 3.6 ghz
>overclock it
Are you using liquid cooling? You should be using liquid cooling.

>10nm improves
?

DELID

>be me
>normal, average gamer
>doesn't overclock to get the +2 fps
>not affected
explain this

>be you
>normal, average gamer
>no custom water loop
>new CPU reaches 100+ degrees and throttles at stock

>overclock also doesn't matter

>average gamer
>uses a 60hz monitor
explain this

>pay $600 for unlocked CPU
>don't overclock it
average gamer indeed

When is this piece of shit going to ship? I heard it's still delayed a month.

>lock all the lower tier cpus
>remove hyperthreading
>sell "unlocked" cpus that can't run beyond stock

DELID DIS

NOOOOOOOOOOO

Has anyone ever successfully overclocked an AMD?

60 Hz is fine for everything but FPS games.

only to the world record

my fx8300 is overclocked to 4.2ghz
8 cores
it was $95 btw

No u

why not get a 9590

((((Core i9))))

Not even trying to hide it anymore

because I'm poor
the 8300 does well though

that 14nm++++++++++++++++++ goodness

>hope that 10nm improves
Oh no no no no no...

Attached: intel10nmregression.png (741x722, 127K)

fatal1ty made a career by playing fps games at 60hz so clearly higher refresh rate doesn't matter as much as you think

>at 60hz
Wasn't he playing at crt screens with 100+hz?

>Absolutely Kvetching
GayMD shills are the worst. It's the best CPU on the market for either gaming or HEDT.

Except it isn't.

Its 12% faster in games for 100% higher cost.

Thats like saying the 7980xe is better than the 2950x.

Sure it beats it by 5%

But it costs 120% more.

>Its 12% faster in games
So we agree it's the best CPU on the market for games.

yeah, search the world record

Why would you overclock the highest clocked CPU yet? It's fine out of the box, maybe just with MCE

No. The 2700x is.

9900k is a piece of Shit. Just buy it tho. I'm sure you would be happy with being hustled by Intel.

I'm using a 4130 I bought for $40. It's already 3.8Ghz stock

Six-Core Coffee Lake SKUs were already pushing near their overclocking ceiling at stock.

You are completely delusional if you were expecting eight-core SKUs to fare better.

Protip: Overclocking an eight-core Coffee Lake is like trying to overclock Skylakex2 under a single die within a Socket 1151 package. It is an engineering miracle that Intel managed to make it work at all without requiring new chip packaging.

>Highest clocked CPU

Are you fuckin retarded? It haves a 3.6ghz base clock , while Fx-9590 had 5ghz boost and 4.7ghz base

That I9 is soldered.

That was a fake 8 core, with crippled IPC, nobody cares

I don't defend fascism, so I don't care

i dont need liquid cooling to OC my 5960x to 4.5ghz...

Watch as the 9800X ends up clocking to 5.2 with ease while the 9900K needs to be binned to do so...

imagine being this naïve

Intel will need 2-3 generations of 10nm to match 5.2 GHz of 14nm++++, by which point AMD will be using 5nm or some shit.

The only way Intel aren't gonna fall by the wayside is if they actually have a brand new architecture in the works that improves IPC. Their current chips are like the 12th iteration of the Pentium III architecture.

Keep up will you?

Delid dis meme still applies.
