Yeah, but VSCode is way more powerful, it won't be as good as a speccific purpose comercial IDE like PyCharm, but VSC is a good editor.
Don't bother with the neckbeards telling you "it eats too much RAM", they are Indians, with shit PC's with 2GB of RAM.
It only consumes about 500-1000MB of RAM, so 12.5% of your low end 8GB machine.

Yeah, its pretty good. I used it for a while before I used emacs. It has some pretty powerful editing features and uses a simple scripting language for extensibility. I never got really into configuring it cuz I figued emacs would be better if I wanted to configure everything.
